I’ve been wanting to add a girl to the mix for a while now (not including family members), so I’m excited to finally get that opportunity! Who is she? We’ll be finding out more about her as well as her family’s business over the course of many strips to come. Hope you guys enjoy the ride!
Hmm do I smell budding romance in the air?!? (Maybe it’s just me.) I love that chicks duckie bandana! And the last panel made me laugh out loud. FLYING FERRET! Another great one Jefbot! *round of applause*
you might just be smelling ferret in the air, Spanky! heheh. if romance happens between those two, it won’t be anytime soon. they’re gonna hafta work for it! 🙂
Okay. The funniest part about this strip–the jumping ferret in the last panel. Silly fun!
glad you liked Abraxas’s acrobatics, Kevin! apparently he has no time for hugs. 😉
Achk! Now Abraxas is really gonna get her she called him a “thing”! And then FLYING FERRET like Spanky pointed out. Oh yes, Abraxas revenge is gonna be bloody and painful. And She still got red paint left?!!! Is the never ending paint bucket!!! XD
Aww. Regular boy behavior, huh Jef?
“I wanna make cure I boycott it when it opens.”
“Is an arcade.”
“I love you!!!”
XD
Abraxas does have a mighty leap, Sonitan and Spanky, but he’s not actually flying. if i ever give him SuperFerret powers, i’ll be sure and outfit him in a cape. 😀 as for the boy behaviors you mentioned: wow! you have the formula down! 😉
Move over Abraxis and make way for “Arcade-is”! Love the strip JefBot!
thanks, JP! and sadly, you’re probably right: jefbot would most likely kick Abraxas to the curb for some quality arcade-time.
Very funny, bot. I love the girl and how quickly you forget that she covered you and your rat with red paint. I guess arcades are your Kryptonite.
what’s a little red paint when there are Donkey Kong and Ms. Pac-Man cabinets to be played, Michael!? 😀
an arcade is most any geeks Kryptonite, Mr. Cornacchia. it’s true. i know that I would probably react in much the same as way as the bot here out of sheer nostalgic joy. I miss arcades, I do.
I’m interested to see what goes on with this new set of characters; is this the first character not based on someone you know, Jeff? or IS she based on someone who is new in your life? very interesting…
arcade = kryptonite – so very, very true, Jed! heheh. and the “new girl” is an amalgam of many girls i know. sometimes i’ve needed a “woman’s voice” in the strip, where family members or the Cornfather just wouldn’t work. if she becomes a regular (and yes, probably the first not based on one, individual person), i’ll have that voice. 🙂
YAY!!! arcades are awesome. Especially if they have DDR, unfortunately, most don’t. 🙁 Nice strip. I feel sorry for Abraxas though
LOVE DDR, DJ! i only discovered the joys of it through my PS2, tho, since the dudes that would dominate it at the arcades were absolute masters and put me to shame.
Awesome! …and she’s hot! So funny Jefbot! Excellent work as always…. Fly ferret, fly!
thanks, funnyshaffer! glad you think she’s hot.
stay away from girls. they’ll paint your toenails and redecorate your house. soon you will have to sit in the garage just to look at your stuff.
considering i have a lot of stuff, i’m taking your advice into consideration, g. 😉
Yay! Female characters are so much fun. I love designing female characters from their clothing to their personality. Plus curves are just more fun to draw. x3
I’ve learned that it’s not just arcades that kryptonite the Super Nerds. Comic books, hot pockets, cartoons, table top RPGs, cola, action figures and office warfare toys… These all make great substitutes.
You’ll notice nude men and women on not on my list, that’s cause you just wanna subdue your local Super Nerd, not kill them. Comic book/video game movies aren’t on the list either ’cause, lets face it, those just make everyone angry.
wholeheartedly agree with you, Foxmouse: curves are way more fun to draw and there’s a whole bunch of kryptonite to keep us nerds distracted! also, yes, comic book/video game movies only serve to make us HULK OUT and want to SMASH!!!
Wow! Great minds think alike again. If this is INDEED a budding romance, it appears that TWO nerdly webcomics are exploring that territory right now: Jefbot AND SubCulture.
yet to be seen if this is a budding romance or friendship, Stan! but i’m digging the love connection going on over at SubCulture, for sure!
fabulous. that’s absolutely hysterical!
gracias, Shana. i’m happy you think so! 🙂
I think you spelt it wrong, I think it’s ‘neighbourhood’
if i lived in Britain you’d be right Trevory, but just like the words “colour, flavour, armour” etc., in the U.S. we drop the “u”. thanks, though – it’s good to keep me on my toes!
Good stuff as always Jeffbot. Love it!
thanks for the comment, MK!
Even in jeans, an old shirt and splattered with paint; “Miss Right” looks so cute. Great work, Jefbot!
thanks, reynard61! i’m glad her cuteness comes through even in her “paint” gear. when she shows up in her normal street clothes, let me know what you think. 🙂
I think I would have had much the same reaction as well 😛
Great strip Bot I like that Knocked-the-wind-out-of-me look on her face in the last panel.
that’s exactly the look i was going for, Eptha! i almost wrote in an “oof” in there but was hopeful the expression would carry it. glad you mentioned it!
oho…a girl? is jeffbot getting some loving? will she play an important role in things to come? will jeffbot choose console above meat?
stay tuned
will Abraxas finally rip someone’s soul (Cornfather)?
lol….she cant breath….careful jeffbot..otherwise she sues u for sexual harassment.
no lovin’ yet, JF3! 🙂 but the “new girl” will be participating in adventures to come, for sure. as for Abraxas, he’s bound to get into trouble with that temper he inherited from Xinda sooner or later…
Heh, she’s cute…. but a hippie?
heheh. not quite a hippie, speearr, but we know she has a thing for animals. we’ll find out more about her as this storyline continues. 🙂
Hell. Yes.
are you giving me a “hell. yes.” for the neighborhood arcade, eleventeen, or the addition of a hottie to the cast? 🙂
Really funny, and the girl is cute! And I like all the possibilities. Maybe one of the great literary themes…girl vs ferret.
thanks, Milas! another great literary theme: boy vs. girl vs. arcade. 😉
Jeffbot already got revenge by hugging her.
Man do I miss a good honest to god arcade. The ones here are crap. The last good one in range closed a couple years ago. It wouldn’t be so bad if they had one or two good games that were in working order.
seriously, CheddarMan! the only arcades around here are filled with ticket-dispensing machines (“claw” games, skee ball, etc.) but no real video game coin-ops or pinball machines that would make me want to spend time and/or money there. sad.
Huh? Why it says that the comment I posted the day before is “waiting moderation”?!!! What have I done wrong?!!!
heheh. you didn’t do anything wrong. the system makes me approve any comments that have links in them, although, since yours didn’t have any links, i’m assuming it red-flagged the word “Google” in your comment. your responses are always welcome, Sonitan. APPROVED!
😀
Trevory: I don’t know where you’re from, but in the U.S. it’s “neighborhood”. I’m a little bit (little, being the key word) of a spelling nerd, so I know. XD
I’m still guilty of mistakes though, of course.
i’m guilty of spelling mistakes occasionally too, Takla (my mom, sister or a sharp reader usually catch ’em for me), especially when i’m writing strips at 3am. if you ever see a spelling error, let me know.
This reminds me of Wil Wheaton, he so wants an arcade that has classic games!
he and i grew up in the same era, Tasha, so are of like minds about a great many things. especially when it comes to those old coin-ops!
No Tasha, don’t mention THAT name here! =D
(joking!)
ha! when did WW become he-who-cannot-be-named, Jed!? 😉
Now that would be a sweet store!!
I have not touched an arcade box since I was 14 🙁
wow! even at movie theaters or pizza shops, Mr Mojo? they’re becoming increasingly hard to find, but sometimes you’ll still find an old video game cabinet in a corner being neglected, somewhere.
I played on the arcade version first -I started on a family trip to florida- on light mode of course. It took me about 6 months to make it to heavy. I haven’t played in so long that my brain knows I am capable of doing an 8 foot song but my body doesn’t want to anymore. XD And I own every single DDR game for the PS2 and I have a pad to play on. I recently moved back from college so, its still in the box.
I live in the UK jeffbot, all we have here are slot machines.
There is an arcade building I’ve noticed in town, but when I look in there are rows and rows of puggies (our term for slot machines)
I like her cool make-up and hair.
