You can be sure jefbot’s “policy” will be put to the test now, and throughout the rest of this storyline! Stay tuned.

Also just wanted to give a huge THANKS for all the awesome birthday wishes sent my way over the past couple days! I’m still recovering from birthday festivities over the weekend and was just barely able to get the comic up in time. That I’m able to do JEFbot as my job right now and have such support from you BOT peeps, makes for some pretty awesome presents.
FIRST! FINALLY!
Also: I didn’t know that the first critter could speak… And I hope that Musashi has some mad fighting skillz. =)
HA! well, with your record-setting string of Secondings, it’s only proper that you finally achieve the Shades of Firsting, Shift! you deserve ’em. and wear them well – while these are pretty killer, they do have a “no kill” policy attached to them, too:
😎
NOOOOOOO. THE SHADES….. so close…..
almost had ’em, blackjacket42! comic went up a bit late today so they were exceptionally hard to nab this time.
Personally, I think Bot needs to go all glow-eyed on that weasel/ferret/badger/cyclops/alien/cyborg/tortured/slash/spam/monster. Show his uber-hamster that he can fight.
yep, he needs to tap that inner rage (or inner calm) blackjacket42 – but can he do it without the Angry Scarf? we’ll see.
ZZSSweet storyline BOT!
The weeks seem slower than usual without jefBOT strips Tuesday and Thursday, but I am getting used to it.
Alien tech looks pretty cool, I wonder if they are controlling the red creature. And if they are, shouldn’t they be controlling Mu too?
thanks, DAS! glad you’re likin’ the story so far. 🙂
and if you’re missing the comic’s old schedule, you could read monday’s strip on tuesday, wednesday’s strip on thursday, and then you get a bonus strip on friday. or read friday’s on the weekend. problem solved!
as for you question – it’s a vlid one, and one you’ll get an answer to before this story’s over…
No shit bot. Anything that tries to attack me gets into my Book of the dead, and i do mean anything. Even cute cuddly aliens like the facehugger.
ha! we’ll see how long bot can keep true to his policy, JF#300 (we know he has a list of critters that have “broken the truce” in the past.) especially if this homicidal mutant possum thing continues to be bent on bot’s destruction. 🙂
Even if Jefbot wanted to kill this creature, he’d have to figure out how to do it. Beating it with the katana may or may not have done the job as I don’t know how hard the wood is it’s made of. Come to think of it, I don’t know how strong this creature’s vital organs are either.
very true, Rainey – bot might’ve not had the tools to take out the creature, even if he ignored his own policy. the katana’s pretty solid, though – it doesn’t have a sharp edge, but it could probably pierce skin if driven in hard enough. we’ll have to wait to see if Mu can do more damage with it than bot did.
So if jefbot has a “no kill” policy…which Batman also has…DOES THAT MEAN HE’S BATMAN?!?!?!
you may be on to something, GG! jefbot also doesn’t use guns (at least not yet!) hmmm….
Belated happy birthday!
The moral of this panel? If you have a No Kill policy, you’d better have a Truss ‘Em Up Tight policy.
thanks for the birthday wish, Sarah W!
and, yes – bot better make an addendum or two to his policy, and “truss ’em up tight” sounds like a good one. 🙂
Bot’s no kill policy reminded me of this exchange in Firefire:
Zoë: Shepard, isn’t the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of
kneecaps.
You sir, are officially shiny.
ha! bot’s no doubt watched Firefly, TPC, so maybe there’ll be some ‘cappin in his future.
Glad you had a cool birthday! Crazed mutant possum is goin’ down! Not without a fight, but it’s goin’! Mu and ‘Bot for the win!
it’s a good bet, Peg! we’ll see. 🙂
If it was me, I’d knock it out, have Musashi bind it up, and interrogate it
good plan, JGT – we know the mutant beast thing can at least talk in monosyllabic threats!
heh, no kill policy. Hey, maybe now we get to see the powers Musashi (sp?) was imbued with!
sorry, I forgot to check back on the previous comment. Either a print out of the strip or a book would work. Though, I think I would want a print of the whole story line, so I’m assuming it would be a book…but maybe a special book that is just the storyline?
Imma check the notify me on this in case you post back about it.
hmmm… been thinking about this kind of thing. i’d like to start making prints of individual strips available soon, but i’m still figuring out the logistics of it. as for a book with just the storyline? been thinking about this as well. if it happens, i’ll put up a blog post about it, but it won’t be for a while: just getting these strips done on time is pretty much taking everything i’ve got!
the logistics can wait until the story line is done. Perhaps you’ll need to take some time off to figure out what you want to do book wise, or maybe if you get prints available you can at the end of the story do a thing for someone to order all prints. I dunno, just spit balling. I am loving the big panels and so far this seems like one where you need to know what happens next, so having just one in printed form just isn’t gonna cut it 😉
the most likely thing to happen right now is integrating an “Order strip” button on each comic page so that readers can order any strip in the archive, theBean. hopefully, i can get some time between strips to work on this! then, i’ll start thinking about books. 🙂
indeed, theBean – we haven’t seen what Mu can do just yet! looking forward to seeing him let it loose. 🙂
What is going onnnnnnn I go away for a few weeks and this happens!
heheh. yeah, things started going into overdrive a few strips back, Kate. welcome back!
Oh dear, I fear that after they’re done with that thing that Bot can definitely forget about getting his deposit back.
i think bot can pretty much kiss that security deposit goodbye at this point, Fijiman! not sure how he’s gonna break that to the Cornfather.
Short of some hard evidence (such as Bot showing CF to the new and improved Mu), Cornfather is going to not going to believe this story, that’s for sure.
for sure, Fijiman!
This looks like a job for… ANGRY SCARF!
ha! bot needs a “Scarf Signal” to call the Angry Scarf – wherever it is – back to him, Maryz!
We love you ‘bot. :]
Creepy looking strip is creepy
awww… thanks, Dj! 😀
and more creepiness to come!
Drat, sorry I missed sending you birthday wishes on Saturday. I’m glad you hear there were a lot of festivities to celebrate the day.
This is definitely getting interesting. I’m with Jefbot on the no-kill policy, except when it’s a case of life and death (my own or my family’s)! Then I think I would stand a better chance of being able to kill something. It would still be tough though since I can’t even kill bugs without a guilty conscience and a sense of remorse.
no sweat, Shanna – i’m still celebrating, so it’s all good! heheh.
and i think you and jefbot share the same caveats to the “no kill” policy. no doubt these variables will come up during this storyline.
Kill it, a lot. Always a good plan.
heh. well, i’m sure if confronted by a monster coming at his throat with sharp teeth, jefbot might just follow the “kill it, a lot” plan, Oz. we’ll see!
Well, the alien thing can speak huh? I like their reactions to it still living though. Hopefully they can finish it off for good.
yep, it can speak a bit, GB. not as eloquently as Mu, though. 🙂
Don’t worry, Mu’s got this. Always trust the guy with the glow in the dark accessories to get a job done.
Oh man it was your birthday on Saturday? Happy belated birthday, broham! Got a P.O box? I’ll send ya something. <3
i think that’s a good tip for life in general, Foxmouse: trust the glow!
and thanks for the birthday wish! as long as you aren’t sending me some rabid, mutant, killer creature, i’d be happy to send you my mailing address. (i’ll email ya.) 😉
I make no guarantees! xD
I’m really digging this story arc. 😀
thanks, man! awesome of you to say. 🙂
That policy is going to get you eaten, Bot. Might want to invest in a shotgun before this story-arc is over.
indeed, Anime fan! i think bot’s definitely gonna have to reconsider that policy before this arc is through.
Being able to knock that thing out, even briefly, suggests that it’s some sort of enhanced biological thing, not alien android/robot tech. So, I hesitate to say this, but, if it’s really trying to kill you, and you have 10 times the mass (which you do, even with the power of scrawn), just step on it.
