I got back from Seattle’s Emerald City Comicon yesterday and am still completely exhausted. Not just from the convention, but from everything leading up to it, too. Many of you know I’ve been working like crazy for the past few weeks getting the books, banners, shirts and everything else ready for ECCC, and while I’m mentally and physically drained, I’ve gotta say: It was totally worth it! I had an amazing time, and I’ll be posting a blog or two about it over the next couple days to fill in those who couldn’t be there. I’ll also be working on the next strip (can’t wait to get back to the drawing board!) soon, but for now, I hope you’ll indulge me a little rest.
You give a LOT for your fans Jefbot. I hope that we bring you as much joy as you bring us!
absolutely, CG! my favorite part of attending ECCC was interacting with BOTreaders. kind of like here but face-to-face! was different, but equally awesome!
and check this out: my first bestowing of the Shades of Firstness since getting back. ahhh… feels good! 😎
Hope to see more pictures in the blog from the ECC.
i just put a few up last night, Liam! check ’em out.
nice booth, do you have more photos, perhaps some with fans and such?
there are a couple photos of fans in Part 1 of the ECCC blog post, Eddie (see the Power of Scrawn and Chub tee-wearers), but i’ll be posting a couple more in Part 2!
How many long time readers visited you in the booth?
BTW I nice touch with the photo. And the banner behind you is fantastic!
thanks, Maryz! getting that banner was money well spent as it attracted a lot of people to the booth. it also made me look like i knew what i was doing, which totally wasn’t the case (at least on the first day). 😉
funny, several longtime readers visited me at the booth, but none of them were regular commenters. although a few of them did say they read the comments, they were just a little timid about commenting.
Dont be timid! We want to hear from you! The Harem is not here to intimidate you but to protect you. This is the safest forum on the net!
*tucks Jeff in with some cookies and a glass of milk.*
You rest now. You had a big weekend. We’ll see you on Friday.
Can’t wait to hear all about your adventures dahhhhhhlink.
Those are my peanut butter snickerdoodles, right? Wait, Bot, you’re not allergic to anything, are you?
nope! not allergic to anything. but, funny: i bought some Nutter Butters for the booth, and my booth neighbors were like, “don’t eat those when interacting with fans, because you might cause an allergic reaction with the peanut dust on your hands!”
i put them away and didn’t take them out ’til the end of the day. 🙂
thanks for the tuck, Pixie! i needed it! in fact, i’m still a little groggy as i haven’t had a good night’s sleep since getting back. 😛
i’m looking forward to getting back to the drawing board tonight, though!
Love the head edit Bot. Glad you had a good time knocking ’em dead. 😉
thanks, TCG! had an amazing time! 😀
Snooze on Jefbot – we can wait a little longer (no more though!)
heh. i’m planning more cons, but now that i have all my merch and booth stuff, i shouldn’t be out for so long, RL.
That’s awesome! You should come to New York Comic Con
looking into it, man! probably won’t happen this year – but maybe next. i take it you’ll be there?
Have the shirts sold well? I mean, has paid the work?
Sry for my bad english, I’m german and google translate is my friend xD
yes! the shirts sold well, Pikkolo – to fans and non-fans alike! 😀
New follower here! I agree with Jason, I like the Photoshop work. You should make papaer masks with different characters or something, it would look really cool! I won’t be mad if you use my idea and it’s the next big craze (Kim F. knows what I’m talking about) 😉
Welcome, Lee. May I just say that you have a really cool name and picture. Also, who’s Kim F?
anonymity, the story of my life…
(congratulations on your commentary debut, Lee!)
thanks for bringing new peeps to the fold, Kim! (assuming you’re responsible for Lee?) 😀
Sorry for not knowing who you are, just can’t keep track of everyone.
glad you liked the PS work, Lee (NnlB)! the look on jefbot’s face painted over mine is totally how i feel. and while i’m not sure i’ll be making jefbot masks anytime soon, i would like to make some plushes! but that day may be a ways off. 🙂
Glad you’re back. I really like the face you drew in place of your real one.
heh. thanks, Fijiman! i should draw jefbot’s face in lieu of my own on all my pictures.
dude that is wicked awesome! sweet booth too! Rest up, you’ve earned it.
thanks, man! rest was had! (though not as much as i would’ve liked. but that’s always the case, really. heheh.)
Lol, funny! See you on Friday.
yes! i’m eager to get back to the drawing board, T!
I’ll be attending next year if you plan on going again 🙂
hell yeah, dude! already reserved my booth. we’ll definitely hafta hang.
That place looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I am sooo angry at myself for not being able to go >.< I'll be waiting anxiously your blog-post JB 😀
it was totally amazing, and the convention floor was huge, nicobot! i’ll be attending again next year, so maybe you can go to that one!
Glad you’re back Jeff!! I know people are tired of seeing my art and definitely want you back behind the drawing board.
I thought your stuff was good.
I second the motion. Your art was great.
dude, people loved your artwork! thanks again for filling in for me so spectacularly! 😀
I like the K.O. face. rofl
heh. it’s a good representation of how i felt when i got back from the con, Af! if i were to draw it now, my tongue would still be sticking out but my eyes would at least be open. 🙂
It was great getting to finally meet you, if briefly, as we passed each other in the Airport…
someday we’ll grab a drink together, Hans, but i’m glad we got to meet!
Going threw withdrawals man. Love the shot, that is EXACTLY what you look like in real life too!!! Really wish I could have been there man. Can’t wait to hear all about it!!!
sorry ’bout the withdrawals, dude – new strip tomorrow! doing some other cons this year *fingers crossed* so hopefully you’ll be able to attend one of ’em.
Welcome back to the bosom of L.A., Jeff! Can’t wait to hear all about your experiences. Was it coincidental or deliberate that your booth’s color scheme fit in so well with the “Emerald” City theme? Hey, did you get to meet Wil Wheaton while he was there? Talk about perfect timing!
it’s good to be back, Kim (even though i miss Seattle)! total coincidence with the color scheme (JEFbot’s official colors are green and grey) but it worked out nicely!
and yes, met Wil briefly, but it was awesome to finally meet him in the flesh! great guy.
It was awesome to meet you and the poster is currently occupying happy space on my art wall. Keep up the amazing strip man.
woo! thanks for coming by the booth, Calhoun! send me a pic of you with the poster and i’ll post it on the blog. 🙂
Awesome… wish I could have been there. Someday I’ll meet you though! I’m looking forward to reading your blog posts though. 😀
yes! hopefully i’ll have a booth at a comicon near you soon, Shay, and we can meet up! and the blog post is up, with another one to come soon. (probably this weekend.)
We await your speedy recovery *double checks that the cookies Pixie gave you were Kypress’ peanut butter snickerdoodles*
getting it in gear to draw tomorrow’s new strip, ky!
Glad Jefbot’s back safe and sound!! He was already lacking sleep…hopefully he’s caught up alittle.
Thank you again, Charles, for the wonderful filler comics, loved them!!!
‘bot, we want to hear all about your adventures!!
*pops popcorn, lays down on tummy on the floor, kicking feet in the air, in anticipation*
thanks for mentioning Charles’s great guest strips, ESQ! he deserves many kudos! 😀
and the first ECCC blog post is now up! can i plop down with you and share some popcorn before i start on tomorrow’s strip?
*tossing body pillows on the floor for the popcorn pile and puts out kypresseses peanutbutter snickerdoodle cookies (Numiliciousness for Pixies?), gorilla bread and potato chips with bacon horseradish dip*
I wonder if I have a Pixie pigtail pic to put up?
Jefbot, you’re always welcome to partake in the popcorny goodness with me!!! The whole harem and the mancubs and everybody…big pj party!! hehehehe…
Pixie…what is gorilla bread?? Everything else sounds deeeeeelish
Oh girl! I’m sending you Paula Deen Recipe on FB. It’s sooooooo good! sweet and gooey and creamy and mmmmmmm
*grabs a snuggly blanket and flops on the floor* Yay, pj party!
Yay! Glad you had a great time in Seattle! Does this mean you will be coming back possibly? Oh yeah, and about the rain… it’s… well… Seattle. We don’t see the sun for months on end here. I’m shocked we haven’t all evolved enlarged eyes and webbed fingers and toes. Like creepy chibi fish people. You know I’m gonna stop there before this gets anymore squicky. Anyways, look forward to our regularly scheduled ‘bot!
