Here it is, my most topical webcomic to date! This strike has been in the making for so long now, I really couldn’t resist. The fact that I could even comment on the whole issue in some small way made me happy that I have a venue to do so. If you happen to see writers picketing, give them a honk or drop by with some donuts or beverages, I guarantee it will be appreciated.
You might notice that I experimented a bit with the focus-pulling effect in this strip. In addition to it being cool-looking (at least to these eyes), I thought it served a practical purpose by allowing me to direct the viewer’s attention to where I wanted it to go. Also, it’s a break from the way I normally draw the characters, with both of them being on the same plane. Let me know what you think.
Loved the focus pull thingamajigger. How’s G’s class this month?
sean, thanks! it’ll pop up in jefbot every now and then, fer sure. g’s class is going great. he had a sub last week, mary lou belli, who was very cool. you coming back anytime soon?
As usual, a great comic jefbot! I bet they didn’t have to worry about a writers strike on New Caprica.
I like the focus action. Nice!
Nice work!
I guess it takes a personal attack on our TV schedules to get us motivated!?
Very good, I also really like the new look of the site.
michael, ha! so true, so true.
bonnie, thanks, my insomniac pal
laura, you got it. i wanted to show the apathy until it becomes personal. which it eventually will for everyone, if they don’t figure this out soon.
john, i’m hoping to get the new site up this weekend.
Excellent job! I love that your comic is always one step ahead of the rest! If this writer’s strike goes on for to long we may need you to “scab”!!!
Rock on, jefbot. As always, excellent work – especially with the Battlestar shoutout.
Thanks for the strike support too. And if you become a scab, me and some other union guys will break your kneecaps. (Or more accurately write some very cutting and mean things about you.)
I wish I could read your stuff 7 days a week!! I’m not kidding make it happen.
funnyshaffer, thanks! you know i’d never be a scab. besides being against my principles, you never know who might take a pipe and break your kneecaps.
patrick t. gorman, well, now we know. heheh. thanks, man.
ang, wow, thanks. i think about this all the time, and if i could change one thing about the jefbot strip, it would be just that.
I love it! It’s timely and such a great read on human nature!
So funny, Great timing. Does or did Michael smoke pot? Just curious.
ahh…, patrick if you need any help breaking kneecaps, please fell free to call me, at anytime, jeff has my number. ps. I don’t want to be snith or anything but I think I saw the cornfather crossing a picketline. (we could practice on him)
Awesome perspective. I like that the focus action makes additional impact/commentary on the strike.
anonymous, thanks! “timely” is one of my favorite things about having this webcomic – i can have a voice (no matter how small) to immediately comment on stuff that’s happening.
anonymous, no michael does NOT smoke pot. nope. never. nuh-uh. that’s not even a pot leaf. it’s a maple leaf. he just really loves canada.
anonymous, i’ll help you practice on the cornfather.
the Mendenhalls, cool. more of that to come, for sure.
