Yes, it’s true that my dad saw an Old Navy and thought they sold military stuff, but with a store name like that, can you really blame him? Plus, he served in the actual Navy so he gets a pass. Still funny, though.
FYI, last time we saw popbot, it was way back in JEFBOT.31.
And yes, that is a mustache on that donut sign.
Heh, glad I’m not the only one who made that mistake when they first heard of Old Navy! Also, been loving your comic since I found out about it — great artwork!! =)
thanks for the comment and the compliment, trones! my dad will be glad to know he’s not the only one. 🙂
I love it! …It’s so true. The name and the clothing they sell. I did love those commercials though. Excellent color in this strip. Rock on Jefbot!!! P. S. I added your blog link on my blog favorites!!!
when i get my links page back up, i’ll be sure to add yours to mine. thanks, fs!
Odly enough I think my grandfather thought the same thing.
very odd. but not as odd as i had previously thought, apparently!
Of course Old Navy’s stuff doesn’t last as long as the Real Navy’s stuff.
Laughed and laughed! (When it actually happened, too.) Glad to see there are others out there who thought the same thing! 🙂
me, too. i’m actually surprised to see so many people relating to this strip!
Hehe I suspect a lot of folks older than, say, me were confused by Old Navy in this very way at first.
maybe that was their sinister plan all along, kf. dun DUN DUUUUNNN!
Good show! 🙂
thanks, pop.
McPedro! His cactus misses him..
Excellent strip as always. It’s good to have something to smile about before I go to the land of the demon-b!tch(work/evil manager)
thanks, emikae! keep smiling; demon b!tches hate that. 🙂
you captured dad completely! i can hear you and dad’s conversation. you are a genius!
I chortled at work when I read this… and I’m not sure I knew what a chortle was until I did it.
Great perspective on the last frame. The blur works well.
i just chortled at your chortle, eleventeen.
i thought that mustache was familiar! gws! haha.. kewl..
i found out about your site through gws and been a fan since!
that mustache sure gets around, doesn’t it? thanks for your readership (and your comment), j!
I love it!!!
Love that Popbot!
Very funny, and wonderful job on the 2nd panel art!!!
thanks, tomix. wasn’t sure i could pull off what was in my head when i was conceptualizing that shot, so that’s great to hear.
Monsieur Mustache is about as hard to find as Waldo these days.
so true, everybodylovestj – danielle should collect all the “mustache” strips out there and make a “Where’s Monsieur Mustache?” book out of ’em.
I love Popbot! This is a great strip, bot! So funny and I love the panel with the car driving down the street. It’s so colorful and action packed. You’re the Michelangelo of the internet.
That’s funny as….jeeze I’m not really sure what it’s as funny as. Great work and I also like the blurring affect.
heheheh. as long as you think it’s funny, eptha, i’ll take it!
I agree with the Cornfather. That second panel is gorgeous and so alive!
Your strip gets a billion comments, mine gets significantly fewer. What’s your secret, man…WHAT’S YOUR SECRET?? 😉
my only secret is that i have the COOLEST, MOST GENEROUS, AWESOMETASTIC READERS!!! that, and threats to their families seems to do the trick.
its true… he threatened my family.
@Kevin Freeman – Jefbot’s other secret? He pays attention and comments on our comments. We get to feel connected to the creator of something we love. We feel like our comments are not just characters in the sea of the internet, but actually listened to and appreciated.

I’m just going through the archive and I was so shocked to see Monsieur Moustache! I LOVE GWS and am so glad to see crossovers! You just earned extra points in my book, Jefbot!
thanks, Nissa – yeah, GWS is one of my FAVORITE strips! and danielle is like, the coolest person ever. 🙂
Yes! GWS reference! I found out about you through them!
sweet, bob234! glad to see a few of you caught that reference. heheh. and thanks for taking a chance on my webcomic when you were over on GWS. it’s great to have you here. 🙂
Haha, love the doughnut! Probably a joke I don’t get, but still funny! Old Navy. I’m surprised my grandpa hasn’t pulled that yet.
I was going to comment on Monsieur moustache but that seems redundant now.
I will, however, say this: I think i know where that Old Navy is.
And if it is where I think it is, I am not happy with it.
Just found your comic and am reading it from the beginning, but I had to stop and comment on this one… the exact thing happened to my dad & I. Problem was, I was about 12, and had no idea what Old Navy really was. You shoulda seen my dad’s face after we walked in. We walked down about three aisles before he believed me that ‘old navy’ was just a name.
