Gah, I voted early via mail-in ballot as well. No sticker forthcoming. The real downside to it is that there’s businesses around town giving away free stuff if you wear your sticker, so I won’t be getting any free ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s, no free egg roll from Kokoro, no free coffee from Starbucks, and on and on…
That “I voted” sticker is more valuable than you think. You can get a free tall coffee from Starbucks with it and a free chicken finger dinner from Shanes Rib Shack (if you have those in your state…). Voting’s all about getting free stuff!! Uh, and all that other stuff Jefbot said. 😉 (BTW, I’m kidding so no lectures please – I’m a military wife/daughter and feminist so, believe me, I get it!)
you’re right, zanne – i had no idea that sticker could get me so much STUFF! i could’ve used a free chicken finger dinner, too! but yeah, even if i voted earlier, we don’t have a Shane’s Rib Shack here in l.a. 🙁
Ah, the coveted “I Voted” sticker… I wish they’d make those things a little more sticky. I always lose mine halfway through the day! Well done, Botdude!
although the point of this strip was to get people to the voting booths, regardless of party, i voted for Obama, so am CRAZY-happy that he won. respect to McCain and the people that voted for him, though. he was a formidable opponent for Barack all the way through to election day.
Oh, and of course, awesome comic as usual! Your art style can be seen evolving here. The poses are alot more extreme and exaggerated than they normally are in your comics.
thanks, tomix – i’ve definitely been working on giving the cornfather more “dimensionality” the past couple of strips so he doesn’t looks so “2D” in the same pose all the time. glad that didn’t go unnoticed.
So great, bot! And so true, too! Really funny and I love our expressions especially in the last frame. Your karate kick is fantastic. Can you get your leg that high in real life? hmmmmmm Great work as always and way to keep it topical. Oh and Gobama!
Yeah I voted in Mail-in Ballot. Only 2 counties in all of Washington State allow you to walk in and vote and those 2 have so few polling places lines have been upwards of 4-6 hours to vote. Needless to say I mail mine in the week before so no sticker. Flip side is that you don’t need your stickers to get the free stuff. And technically they can’t ask for it because it’s against federal law to give any items or services for voting. 🙂 Just FYI
YOWCH! 4-6 HOURS, Jereme!? crazy. oh, and i heard about that no-sticker technicality to get the free stuff, but it was too late by the time i got out of work. 🙁 maybe next time i’ll be smart like you and go absentee. although then i wouldn’t get the sticker, which would feel wrong… grrrr.
We voted… in Puerto Rico!! We don’t have stickers! I want one!!! XD Quite interesting that with all the wild attitude when it comes to politics we don’t have a “I voted” sticker. I’m telling ya, this tiny island take its voting quite seriously. My grandpa used to tell me that Puerto Rico’s national sport was Politics. I’m really starting to believe it as well!! (Grandpa died some years ago. I miss you, abuelito! ;_;
you’re all the way in puerto rico!? nice! glad politics is a big thing over there. this election’s got me watching WAY more news than i ever have before, i think. congrats on voting, and thanks for sharing a little of your grandpa’s memory with us, Sonitan. 🙂
“Yes We Did,” indeed! so you got your sticker, even before you sent your ballot in? so there may be stickers out there, stuck on people under false pretenses!? well, if you still have your sticky-less, used-up, busted ol’ sticker, send me a picture of you with it for my wall of voters. 🙂
tystarr, i didn’t realize people dug these stickers as much as i did. hmmm, i may have to consider making some JEFBOT stickers and hope people dig them, too!
I also voted my absentee ballot a few weeks ago, and no sticker. 🙁 I guess I get to say I traded it for a free not-having-to-stand-in-line-for-hours? 🙂
Unfortunately, I didn’t even think about keeping my ‘I Voted’ sticker for this historic election. Instead it went where all things that have lost their purpose go… working retail. 🙂
man, I voted via mail in…I don’t get a flippin’ sticker!
doh! they should mail one to you, jh3! awesome that you got your vote in already – i gotta wait ’til about 6pm tonight.
I voted! Not in your election though. We don’t get stickers ;-;
darn, no sticker. good on you for voting tho, shan!
I voted! Love the strip! 🙂
awesome! – to both of those sentences!

crap! missed out on all that free stuff cuz i was in a meeting all day and didn’t vote til late. i could’ve used an egg roll.

gracias, amber! ’tis true about the lame stickiness factor of those stickers. no wonder the cornfather lost his. 🙂
Don’t mess with Jefbot and anything that might be considered a “collectible”. I’m heading out to vote right now!
heh. true – i might have to put my sticker from this year’s election in an acid free baggie with uv-shielded plastic and an acid-free backing…
Who did you two vote for?
I didn’t vote!
Of course, I’m not an american, btu whatev’s.

Great job Jefbot!!! I ALWAYS ask for two… Ha… Just in case. Love the karate chop with crazy eyes!!! P. S. the line was only 45 min. long. Not bad….
I’m with jhorsley3 … Absentee voters get no sticker and that makes HULK ANGRY!!! Maybee I’ll make my own…
skipperdee, you should DEFinitely make your own so you don’t hulk out.
Vote! Go JEFBOT!!!
great strip!
um, thanks, xin.
I just voted Jefbot!! Excellent strip!!
yay!

I voted! I’m one of those lucky people who turned 18 on election year. 😀 Unfortunately, my polling place didn’t give me a sticker…D:
WOW! what an important year to turn 18, Angela!!! i’m sure there’ll be plenty of “i voted” stickers in your future. 🙂
DUDE u guys get stickers, i feel ripped off
heh. i’d feel ripped off too, B_. my polling place always has those stickers.
In Colorado they gave you a sticker in your mail in… I wore mine until it lost its sticky. Almost two weeks ago. And for the record, “Yes We Did.”
Booo…I didn’t get a sticker and I live in Brooklyn.
I looove stickers!
tystarr, i didn’t realize people dug these stickers as much as i did. hmmm, i may have to consider making some JEFBOT stickers and hope people dig them, too!
Eleventeen, I did the same in Colorado and didn’t get no damn sticker! Hmmph! (Maybe my wife stole it out of my ballot)
i bet it’s in her purse or sock drawer, stan. she’s definitely hiding it from you.
I also voted my absentee ballot a few weeks ago, and no sticker. 🙁 I guess I get to say I traded it for a free not-having-to-stand-in-line-for-hours? 🙂
heheh. great way to look at it, mandydax!
Unfortunately, I didn’t even think about keeping my ‘I Voted’ sticker for this historic election. Instead it went where all things that have lost their purpose go… working retail. 🙂
I didn’t get to vote…I didn’t get registered in time *sniff* Great strip though
I didn’t even see stickers at my voting place and it made me sad. I somehow feel like it was less of a contribution without the sticker.
