It’s almost Halloween, so I wanted to pass along a great site for those of you thinking about making a badass Steampunk outfit. If this is you, look no further than the PH Factor Emporium. It has a great assortment of custom made, ‘punk goggles and guns (check out that awesome modded Nerf Maverick gun below, that actually still shoots Nerf bolts!) that feel sturdy and look rad.
Hans, the guy who makes all this stuff, sent me a pair of the goggles (that’s me, wearing ’em), so I can most definitely attest to their quality and awesomeness firsthand. Also, Hans is a cool guy and has been a friend to this site for a long time, so if Steampunk is your thing, keep his site bookmarked.
Thanks Jefbot, you rule!!
Hans! Congrats on making the JB blog! You’re famous!
Steampunk awesomeness!
There’s a Plymouth Steampunk Society which meets regularly and has an annual picnic in the summer. I’d love to join but, alas, it’d involve going outside in Plymouth. 🙁
I have been shamelessly mentioning this site to family members for a while, in the hopes of getting an awesome Steampunk birthday or Yule/Xmas present.
Nothing so far. 🙁
Maybe they’ll take the hint this year…? *touch wood*
Ooooh man steampunk. I just recently took up an interest in steam, and those goggles are friggin sweet. MORE IMPORTANTLY that Maverick is going to be my new best friend.
Those goggles make you look like a really badass time traveler or zepplin pilot. Hmm, why don’t people make more cool steampunk movies? The Golden Compass (movie) made me sad because the book made me think of it as this really awesome steampunk dystopia… and then the movie wasn’t really like that.
I’ve been a fan of his for awhile…I’ve been wanting to buy at least a pair of his goggles…but alas, I am poor LOL Ohhh and one of his other guns you put a light stick in it (or something) and it looks awesome!!! Serious want!
‘bot, you look great in the goggles!! 😀
Are you planning on being steampunk for Halloween Jeff? The goggles do look awesome on you. Or are you and Michael going to be Chubman and Scrawn? I haven’t decided what I’m going to do yet. I need to get busy on a Zaphod Beeblebrox and a peacock costume. I bet you can’t guess which kid wants which costume. 😉
I have to agree with Shanna, Jeff — those are pretty sharp on you!
Being that I’m the evilness puertorican victorian goth that I am – and apparently I’m an endangered species over here!! – I have to give points to our beloved jefbot for pointing attention toward this site. I know for a fact that steampunk goths are cool as the victorians!
*evil laugh of doom*
I ship world wide (hint) *grins*
u look like doctor horrible. lalala dun dun lalala dundun
haha, I love all things steampunk. I actually made my own steampunk outfit for Halloween last year, and I just picked up a pair of Nerf Mavericks for Humans vs Zombies which I intend to repaint when I get the time.
Also, have you heard the band Abney Park? If not, go check em out. One of their songs is called Airship Pirates. Need I say more?
Steampunk looks like something I could really get into, especially after watching an episode of Modern Marvels last night on steam-power where they showed some examples of steampunk things. Plus, that Nerf gun looks EPIC.
ooh… steampunk…. me have?
actually i recently got a maverick and want to paint it but i dont know what i should paint it as…. any suggestions
(looks at picture of Maverick above comments) I suggest that one as a first choice. If you do not have the skill, time, or patience to do so, then I suggest a camouflage patter.
How did I just see this now?! OMG must have!
How DID you manage to not see this for this long? But yes, this is awesome and I wish that he could do that to all my Nerf guns.
