thou art Firsted, Bender_Sastre! and you know what that means: you get the Shades of Firsting! wear ’em well: you can whack some enemies with these if you flick ’em off your face right:
😎
I’d like to thank the nasty final I have in the morning that I am certain to epically FAIL, despite my semi-conscious dedication to studying to the last powerpoint slide. Maybe I can fling the SoF at the person who always sets the curve and bean him hard enough to make him fail as well.
yep. looks like you both posted in the same minute as the strip went up (12:06), so it was only seconds which separated you two from the Shades! competition’s heating up!
glad you’re feeling the suspense, f_f! and i’m happy to hear you dug the sliding action in that second panel – i wasn’t sure if i made the motion lines and “sliding dust” too subtle or not. 🙂
Oh, sure Mu; take the chincillia-rat-thing and leave the parrot to Jefbot. It’s not like normal parrot bites don’t hurt like a mother already. Nevertheless, slick moves, Mu. That beasty isn’t very bright, is it?
heh. Mu didn’t have much choice since it appears the rodent thing picked him, B_S! but yeah, i think jefbot would’ve had a much easier time with it than the bird. hopefully Mu can apply some of those slick moves in helping bot now!
Pfff I Blame Chins loss on lack of depth perception.
Now btw would be a good time for bots axis of evil powers to come to light, or discover he has Viking ancestry and go berserk. XD
those beasties are definitely at a disadvantage when it comes to depth perception, Orzahn! but i think Mu still could’ve whupped “Chin’s” butt, even if the mouse had stereoscopic vision.
and, yes – bot could use some powers right about now. we’ll see how he does without ’em in tomorrow’s strip, tho.
Regarding your previous question. My head researcher Faust got into a stash of absinthe. Before I knew what was going on, there were starlings with teeth flying around attacking people in the compound and Faust was running through the streets in nothing but a lab coat. A greatly, greatly disturbing day.
true that, GB – he could’ve tried to take the mouse head on but gracefully sidestepped the pouncing. he definitely has the advantage, as long as these beasties can’t match his hamster fu. 🙂
I have a strange feeling ‘bot is the plucky comic relief, at least at this point, so a) he’s probably safe; and b) he’s still getting his rear chased around the mulberry bush by a love bird.
you’re right, Sarah W – i want this story to be fun and not tooo serious, so there’s gonna be some humor thrown in here and there, mostly courtesy of bot and his, uh, lack of skills, for now. 🙂
First me, baby!

ha! no guarantees on that move working with the Shades, Bender_Sastre! good luck on that final. 😀
Right in the butt!! hahaha
You’re killing me with all this suspense! Also love the sliding action on the second panel!
Flame, if I ain’t sittin’ right here watching for the update, you up and snag the thing. It’s a matter of seconds, isn’t it?
yep. looks like you both posted in the same minute as the strip went up (12:06), so it was only seconds which separated you two from the Shades! competition’s heating up!
hahaha I don’t watch for it anymore, as it’s 1am or 2am here depending on how early or late it goes up. I’ve got my own secret system hahaha
glad you’re feeling the suspense, f_f! and i’m happy to hear you dug the sliding action in that second panel – i wasn’t sure if i made the motion lines and “sliding dust” too subtle or not. 🙂
I think they are subtle enough! The whole clutching the earth to stop also reminds me heavily of an anime called Claymore
i think i picked up the “clutching earth” move from DBZ, f_f. if not, it was definitely some other anime.
Oh yeah! They did that in DBZ too! I had forgotten about it!
i see it all the time now! even in live action stuff – kung fu and action movies.
If I have learned anything… it’s that jefbot will not fare well (ish).
it appears you have mastered all the lessons i have to teach, 11TN. (or you just know jefbot far too well.)
Oh, sure Mu; take the chincillia-rat-thing and leave the parrot to Jefbot. It’s not like normal parrot bites don’t hurt like a mother already. Nevertheless, slick moves, Mu. That beasty isn’t very bright, is it?

Daggum! Mu has the moves!
he’s pretty good at the hamster fu, TCG!
He DOES have the moves! 😀
yup, yup!
Shouldnt the boken sounded “twhack!” Just my opinion really.
others might’ve heard it as a “thwack!” sound, too, Jf#300, but to me, it sounded like a “whack!” 🙂
Chinhillanator is no longer cute.
My guess on Bots strategy: run like hell.
good strategy, DAS: when the enemy’s no longer cute, run like hell!
Ok, not to be mean or anything but there is no way Jefbot can top this finesse.
you’re 100% right, Maryz. heheh. we’ll see if jefbot can squeeze at least a little finesse out of that garbage can lid. 🙂
Pfff I Blame Chins loss on lack of depth perception.

Wow. I’d actually go so far as to say that was wiggity, wiggity, wiggity whack…
Have I mentioned I JUST woke up?
heh. i love that wiggity, wiggity, wiggity whack feeling in the morning, JOE!
all your broken teeth are belong to Mu.
what you say!! make your time!!
Swooping is bad. Very bad. Especially in the case of the chincillia-rat, as it got a royal beat down from it trying to swoop down on Mu
yeah, the swoop just leaves you too vulnerable, JGT! maybe his partner will learn? nahh…
Well it would appear that the little chinchilla looking thing isn’t particularly agile/smart. Let’s just hope it doesn’t go after Bot.
yeah, so far all the alien-enhanced creatures (besides Mu) haven’t been too bright, Fijiman. at least that’s good for bot and his buddy.
Regarding your previous question. My head researcher Faust got into a stash of absinthe. Before I knew what was going on, there were starlings with teeth flying around attacking people in the compound and Faust was running through the streets in nothing but a lab coat. AH! it all makes sense now, Anime fan! i think if i saw teeth-baring birds, i’d swear off alcohol forever! (well, maybe not.) 😉
Nice shot Musashi!
Mu:1, Mutant creatures: 0.
Nice whacking, Mu! And well drawn, Jeff. I can feel the “martial arts movie fight scene” of it.
awww, thanks, Shanna! i did want today’s strip to have a “martial arts movie fight” vibe to it, so i’m glad you liked Mu’s moves. 🙂
WOOT! FIGHT! Did that finish the mouse-thingie, or will he need another hit or two? *Casts Heroism on JB and Mu*
he’s out for now, KB! and thanks for the Heroism – Mu and bot could use it!
I’m a level 12 bard/8 psion (telepath). Support is my M.O. Lemme know when you need healing spells! I’m no cleric, but I’ve got a few minor heals.
$10 on Mu winning! He smart enough to know when to dodge and where to hit. That gives him a good advantage for now.
true that, GB – he could’ve tried to take the mouse head on but gracefully sidestepped the pouncing. he definitely has the advantage, as long as these beasties can’t match his hamster fu. 🙂
Only time (and a few face-to-face victories) will tell if Musashi is a worthy successor to his namesake. I’m rootin’ for ya Mu!
very true, reynard61! and something tells me these creatures haven’t exactly required Mu to show off all his skills. 😀
I have a strange feeling ‘bot is the plucky comic relief, at least at this point, so a) he’s probably safe; and b) he’s still getting his rear chased around the mulberry bush by a love bird.
