You might recognize Xinda, jefbot’s sister, from one of the most popular strips in the JEFBOT archive, The Angry Scarf.
And yes, this whole “Mushroom Burger” incident happened with my older sister in Dalt’s restaurant in Burbank, if I remember correctly. There were witnesses.
#50 REACHED! CONTEST HERE!
Woo-hoo!!! With this strip, JEFBOT hits the #50 mark! Wow, #26-50 went by even faster than #1-25. I swear I’m going to blink and we’ll be at #100. Which means we should get the celebration for this milestone going ASAP – see the blog post below for all the details.
Congrats on #50. Keep up the great work!
You couldn’t make this up! Why would they put mushrooms in a mushroomburger? LOL! Wow! #50! Great going!
i can’t wait to see you….
there are alot of people in the world who hate mushrooms, it isn’t an uncommon fear. also, its been proven that mushrooms can grow in your colon and can only be removed by colonics, surgery or yule gibbons…
Congratulations on hitting 50!!! I haven’t missed a single strip, and I’m still so amazed at how funny and wonderful each one has been! Today’s is excellent! I was actually with a girl in a Hooters in some random city back east, and she really ordered, “The deluxe mushroom burger, with NO mushrooms please!” The waiter and I just looked at each other and he said, “So you’d like the Cheeseburger?”…
Too funny!!!
Hilarious! and Congrats on #50!
Congrats on 50!! I’ll be hitting it next week!
Your sister has always scared me a little.
aaron, thanks! time to start on the next 50…
jAnonymous, you’re right – i really couldn’t make it up. no mushrooms in a mushroom burger would just be too absurd! thankfully, with family members such as mine, i really don’t have to. 🙂
partygirl, really? what for? who is this!?
anonymous1, really? no way. i thought yule gibbons were only good for removing polyps.
funnyshaffer, that’s incredible. maybe my sister isn’t as crazy as she appears… heheh.
mary, gracias! yay, #50!
john, congrats in advance! and re: my sister. you betta hope she doesn’t read this. 😉
Well, being a witness to this shocking event when it happened, I can chime in with a couple of items: (1) If memory serves, I think it may actually have happened at a Hamburger Hamlet (which is now closed…coincidence?), and (2) this kind of thing isn’t all that unusual with Jeff’s lovely sister (just wait til he does a strip about the infamous cookie dough ice cream incident…they’re still talking about that one at Ben & Jerry’s).
Congratulations on #50, BOT! And even more kudos to all th success you have achieved on the world wide web. Every week you get more and more fans and they are well deserved. I love this weeks strip so much. Who knew mushrooms came on a mushroom burger. 😉
dearest little brother, thank you for once again making me the star of your comic strip, as mom says, “its an honor.” the only thing i hate is now all the wackos are calling me, they think i’m their queen. also, john k. i’ve had my eyes on you & you should be scared. cornfather, quit calling me!!! sean luke, the next time we go out, you’ll be the one wearing “the pepsi panties” family fun times!
Golden!!! Can I get your sisters number?! Never mind, I’ll just ask the Cornfather.
I have never heard that mushrooms can grow in the colon. I hope anonymous1 is just kidding!!!!!!!!!
Lol xD I got Mystery Dungeon Explorers Of Darkness! ^^ . . .Now I have to find my D.S. -.-
sean luke, (1) you’re right, it was the hamlet! …although, dalt’s is now closed too and we all used to frequent that place as well. coincidence!? (2) hmmm. i think i was pushing levels of absurdity relating the “mushroom” incident – the “ben & jerry’s incident” might push that level too far!
michael cornacchia, thanks for the congrats and the kudos! i think you might get extra laughs from the strip this week knowing linda personally.
unfavorite, sis! thanks for having a big sense of humor about this! and, um, please don’t hurt my friends.
jeff payton, hmm, i better give you the number. the cornfather might be in a ditch somewhere if my sister gets to him first.
ak, anonymous1 has got to be kidding. right, anonymous1? right!?
natalie, sweet! i know i said i would play mystery dungeon until i finished diamond, but i lied. i’ve been playing it and we should trade pokemon asap.
Snap. You captured it. Congrats on #50.
MY MAMA IS CRAZZZZZZZZY. congrats, uncle jefbot. All good memories. family memory #3,250,001 – premovie meal at arc light – stabbing me in the hand with her fork after witnessing me eat the last bite of cheesecake
lor, …crackle. pop! arigato!
akira, heheh. maybe a little bit crazy. at least when it comes to mushroom burgers. and ben & jerry’s ice cream. and cheesecake. and angry scarves. and… oh, okay. she crazy. 😉
This strip is hilarious! I was linked from Subculture. I sent your comic to my friends 🙂
Congrats on hitting 50!
And yay! A chance to have a *set* of badass T-Shirts! Yay! 🙂
PS–Mushrooms are icky.
Well, it makes sense to me. Hamburgers don’t have any ham in them, so why should one expect mushrooms in a mushroom burger?!
annie, thanks for the feedback and for sending the strip on to your friends! i love those guys from subculture – their strip is awesome. especially for fanboys like me.
bon, thanks for the congrats! and good luck to you winning that set.
benpanced, ha! true, true. i’m sure my sister would agree.
