McDonald’s doesn’t even have my favorite fast food hamburger (that distinction probably goes to In-N-Out’s fantastic Double-Double) but there are times when I just crave a Big Mac and fries. Exactly what is in their grease and why does it have such addictive properties?
If you’re just joining us, check out the previous strip where a freak accident in space and another in the ocean caused jefbot to swear off cars for good.
Another great strip! The last panel made me giggle. Quite generous of Jefbot to provide such a “reimbursement” to Cornfather.
Seeing your Twitter status, you going to check out the movie new Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li this weekend? Was looking on IMDB for the who was playing which character, a lot of questionable choices…
thanks, Spanky! yeah, not sure if i’m gonna see the new street fighter movie – ming na wen from the original will always be chun li to me. 😉 the new street fighter iv game for the 360 is a lot of fun though!
I’ve never understood what’s so great about fast food places, but I suppose those who love them have feelings similiar to mine for calzones. I would gladly hand over several paychecks for a calzone when I’ve been deprived.
you’d love this place called “frankie and johnnie’s” near me, Wyvv – they’ve got huge calzones there, literally the size of footballs.
haha! it’s funny cuz it’s true. 🙂
yep, sometimes a big mac must be had at all costs.
The Western Bacon Cheeseburger from Carl’s Jr. has it’s hooks in me, it is my Cenobite of the fast food world.
Wow, Jefbot carries fifties on his person? Here’s a tip: get a bike. At least he’ll be able to get to his precious Big Macs quicker. xD
i used to love carl’s wbc too, Foxmouse, but after eating so many one year i finally got sick of them. and a bike would be quicker, but seeing as how my dad has been hit by a car at least twice while riding his bike, i’m kinda fearful . 🙂
Hilarious, Jeff! Well, In-and-Out is something we lack here in Denver and that I like to hit when in CA whenever possible – yum! Oh, and I’ve figured out a way to defeat the addictive properties of McD’s grease: work there when you’re 17. That’ll take care of any sort of craving you EVER have for McD’s. Worked for me. Oh, and the secret ingredient? Nicotine.
i hear ya, Stan – i worked at a Carl’s Jr. when i was in college so had to take a break from there a while back. also, i wonder if they could make a patch for fast food addiction?
Ooooooh IN-and-Out… drooooooool. definately one of the things that makes me jealous of CA residents. I haven’t been to CA in about… Lord it’s gotta be 5 years but those burgers haunt me to this day. Seriously Jeff, they haaaauuuuuunnnt meeeeeee……
i can see why, Jed. In-N-Out’s amazing. and since i don’t have one easily accessible to me near work or home, i never get sick of it! mmMMmmm… dooubble douubbllee.
I’m cravin’ more JEFBOT comics…they just keep getting better and better!!!
did i tell you i add a little nicotine to each comic, too?
hahahaha! that was like me when I tried to go on a diet…well except without the $50
i find it’s really hard to diet on a budget, Eptha. food’s freaking expensive. especially healthy food!
McD’s burgers are OK, In-n-out are good, but a double cheeseburger at Astro Burger, Melrose & Gower….insert Homer Simpson sound here. I gotta get back to L.A.
i’ve had many a burger at Astro’s, estiveo, and i concur – they’re delicious. used to really like their ostrich burgers. 🙂
So all it takes is $50.00 and a Big Mac to sell you down the river??? That is outstanding! I love it!
pretty much for anything, yeah.
Love it!!
gracias, Mary!
Is it my imagination, or has the Michael character lost weight?
he has, a little, just like Michael in real life, Shari! 🙂
and somehow the Coke from McDonald’s is better by far.
totally, eleventeen. they must be putting something in that, too. and their mr. pibb is excellent as well.
Maybe you haven’t think about it, but it is a judicious choice Mcdonald’s, because even if it’s not the best fast food in USA, it is the only one you can find in the whole world… so everybody can perfectly understand what you’re talking about. (I’m french, fond of Big mac, we have also some “burger king” but nobody know them…). The Big mac is probably the most famous hamburger in the world! lol
true, Isi! that’s why i picked the big mac – i wasn’t sure if people would know what a “double double” or “big boy burger” was, outside of the united states, or california for that matter. thanks for the perspective from france!
oh man… I haven’t had Big Mac for the longest time… now I’m craving for it!
although i do love the big mac, alecho, my latest craving from mcdonald’s has been the quarter pounder. whenever my bro-in-law and i go to the movies lately, i’ve been getting one of those and loving it. ba-da-ba-ba-BA!
Well, since he’s saving money in GAS, jef now has money to spend and provide “reimbursement” for anyone willing to bring him a couple of things XD See, not driving saves money and your life!! Way to go, Jef!!
I must admit that I’m usually careful with what I eat and NO, is not ’cause I’m a health-junky. Diabetes just makes you be a bit more careful with what you eat 🙂 But I do enjoy fast-food every now and then. I just don’t eat the BIG hamburgers anymore. Honestly, one small burger can fill me up! I do like the MacDonald fries (I agree, jef. They must have SOMETHING in them to make them adictive!). Just fresh and they taste better than any of the others (except for the ones my mom does fried in margarine *drools* Those are the BEST fries in the world *drools even more* AS a matter of fact, I’m gonna beg my mom to make fries *runs to beg mom)
heheh. i’m sure your mom’s fries are amazing, Sonitan, but you’re absolutely right: mcd’s fries (especially when just out of the fryer and salted) are among the best!
I used to like Mickey D’s until about 1998 when I had a temporary job and had to eat there *EVERY FRIKKEN DAY(!!!)* because it was the only place nearby. And it wasn’t even the eating there *EVERY FRIKKEN DAY(!!!)* that made me dislike them; it was the fact that the so-called “food”, no matter what it was or what I put on/in it, was so *bland* that I just couldn’t stomach it after a couple of weeks. Nowadays, I go to Rally’s. *Their* burgers actually taste like burgers, and Big Bufords® are only 2/$4. (Though I never go more than once a month or so.)
Also, I second Foxmouse: Get a bike. You can probably even find a good used one for what you were going to pay The Cornfather. (And don’t forget to buy a good lock for it and a helmet for yourself!)
i haven’t had a rally’s burger in at least a year or two, reynard61, but i remember it being very good. another burger that’s really good is the blue cheese burger from hamburger hamlet or red robin’s. YUM.
Burgers? meh…KFC wins my heart everytime or should i say clog my heart everytime.
i love the chicken pot pie there, JF3.
Ahhh In-N-Out…. But how bout Tommy’s? Best damn chili burger.
oh, man. how could i forget tommy’s!? you’re right, Josh, they have a mean chili burger. that, some chili fries and a mountain dew make the perfect meal.
Ha! I love the last panel, the face is hilarious! xDDD
thanks, Nat! the Cornfather’s expression in that last panel makes me giggle a bit, too. 🙂
i love love love “Astro Burgers”!!!! (and a strawberry shake) i think there’s one in silverlake as well. yum E!
i haven’t had their shakes, xin, but (in addition to the ostrich burgers) i like their fries and patty melts, too!
Astro Burger is awesome! They have the best onion rings in town! I haven’t eaten at a McDonalds since college when I got food poisoning!
never been food poisoned at mcd’s. i think my tolerance for that is built way up since i eat so much there. 🙂
Super funny, bot! The facial expressions are amazing as usual. The dialogue is witty although walking in LA can be stressful cause you have to walk really far to get ANYWHERE. I also like how the Corfather is showing a little bit of skin. Trying to up your ratings, bottie?
you guessed it, Michael: a little skin from the Cornfather always boosts my ratings x2!
Love the physicality of Jefbot, halting the Cornfather by his shirt. So funny.
thanks, Lor! when it comes to fast food, jefbot doesn’t play around. 🙂
I have always wanted to try an In-N-Out burger! I need to get to America one of these days.
That’s the one thing that sucks about the midwest.
No In-N-Outs.
I keep re-reading through the archives, but I don’t think I’ve left a comment, yet.
But if you ever get a chance, add tomato to the Big Mac. Yum!
No In-N-Outs here either. Also no Tim Horton’s or Steak N’ Shake. *sigh*
It’s the sauce I tell you! It’s maddeningly delicious!
What’s in a McDonald’s burger, you say? I’ll tell you!
BLEACH.
(Thanks, Food Inc.!)
They put pureed chicken feet and nicotine in their grease.
