Mombot’s counterpart in Real Life absolutely loves the television series Bones. Every time I go over to my parents’ house, the show’s either playing live on her television, or it’s playing from a deep Bones archive she keeps on her DVR. I’m not sure what it is about the show that she likes so much, but I’m glad she has a show she can embrace at that level. I tried to get her to watch Angel, thinking she might be able to transition her love for David Boreanaz’s FBI character to his bloodsucking one, but it didn’t take.

I’m not sure there’s a show that I share my mom’s level of enthusiasm for, at least since Battlestar Galactica and The Sopranos left the airwaves. I think the only thing that comes close is Fringe right now and I’m way behind on that. Any suggestions for good, current TV? I know I’m going to get a lot of Doctor Who suggestions, but I’m still woefully behind on that too, and refuse to watch any new episodes ’til I catch up on the past several seasons. Extremely excited for the debut of Game of Thrones later this month on HBO, so there’s that. The novel the series is based on is a modern classic, so it has a lot to live up to.
