After eating a ton of awesome holiday foods with family and friends over the past few weeks, and spending a lot more time at my computer over the past couple of months, I’ve found my Powers of Scrawn have waned a bit. In fact, I’ve pretty much vowed (or strongly suggested to myself) that I’ll lose 10 pounds by March so I’ll be in fighting Scrawn shape before the Emerald City Comicon. We’ll see how it goes. If nothing else, I’ll have some grist for the comic strip mill over the next couple months.
So how ’bout you guys? Any resolutions for the new year?
HAhaha… If I were really laughing out loud I’d wake my parents. XD
Resolution? Get a job.
First Shades in a long time, looks like. 🙂
good choice with the virtual laughs, Insectoid – awakened parents are rarely a good thing. heheh. and your resolution is a good one. i think many readers can relate!
and, yep – the Shades of Firsting are yours! wear them well: these will help you truly know the Powers of the Chub Side!:
😎
Come to the power of the chub side! We have cookies… and pies… and cake… and corn dogs…
mmm, i’m sold, Paul!
Come JB, come to the Chub Side.
Lolz.
no new year resolution for me coz ill break it as soon as u can say bubbly.
heh. yeah, i’ve probably doomed myself to break my resolution by announcing it, jf#300. Chub Side, here i come! 😉
I want to tone up by the time I go on my trip for my birthday. I also need to pick up a hobby >>
(Ill be in Portland an Seattle for a week I’ll probably miss you by like a week)
whaaaaaat!!? you need to stay that extra week (or come earlier) so you can hang at the BOTbooth at ECCC, dj!
I’ll be there for my birthday the 13th through the 20th. I looked up ECCC and its the first weekend. that totally sucks but I already bought my plane ticket.
that’s cool. reeeeeally hoping to do conventions further east this year, dj, so hopefully you’ll be able to swing one of those. have fun on your birthday!
Hobby? I vote for knitting. 😀
I already knit. I have three scarves started already. A riddler one for myself, a my little pony one for a friend and a gryffindor one for myself. I just need to get back in the groove of knitting again.
Awesome!
Dang, just by an hour…
~
I know my sister always gropes about being underweight. Around 93 and a half pounds (about 42.4 kilos). When she thinks she’s eaten a lot for dinner, she gets disappointed yet again.
wow. i remember 93.4 pounds, ROM!. i musta been in junior high then and just couldn’t break the 100 pound limit. i no longer have that problem. 😛
Naaah, stay scrawn representative. There are too few of us as it is I think.
Nothing wrong with being Chub rep, but too many people overdo it…
i’ll try to come back to the Scrawn side, Maryz! right now i’m kinda in between, so representing neither.
This is my problem. I am not quite Chub side, but I’m not Scrawn either. My resolution is to get back to exercising more regularly! I slacked off bigtime last year, and my more chub-leaning body shows it. 😛
I love the Chubified Bot. Well done!
heheh. i kinda like him too, Shanna. he wears the weight better than i do. 😉
Come to chubside to fulfill your destiny!
Or, just come to the chub to to be full, it’s up to you.
both sound appealing, TPC. we’ll see how it works out. 🙂
Good Morning BOTIVERSE!
Ahhh Young Padwan…learn the Power of the Chub Side. At least a little. You’re so skinny! I want to feed you….a lot. Rice and beans and chicken and casseroles and roast pork and yuca with onions and mojo!
Damn it….I’m hungry!
morning, Pixie! and, yes – i will take you up on your offer. rice & beans & chicken & casserole & roast pork, etc. sound absolutely delicious! nomnomnom!
Better grades…. Like that will happen xD
I am in between fat and skinny, but my sisters insist on telling me to lose weight. I dont go to the gym, but I do not eat too much either…
My life motto is: “Let it be” mostly because I enjoy not doing anything, or not doing something I do not like.
i’m sure you can get better grades if you set your mind to it, DAS! and while i’m currently not going to the gym, i would like to start going back. almost more for my mental health than my physical health. 🙂
‘bot, like you my (unofficial) resolution is to lose some weight…I’m making some progress courtesy the FitBit I got from my parents for Christmas (and I’ve been recommending it to everyone ever since).
ooh. i’ve been thinking about getting a FitBit or FuelBand for myself, JOE! glad you can recommend the FitBit, as i’ve also been thinking of picking that up as a present for a family member. 😀
Just remember that the FitBit One is the new model and the FitBit Ultra is (frustratingly and counter-intuitively) the old model…not that I’ve had any problems using the Ultra, but it really doesn’t feel like that naming system used any logic whatsoever.
yeah, that seems odd. “ultra” should always be the upgraded model, JOE! anyway, thanks for the heads up. getting one as a present tomorrow.
I had a similar experience. However, when I woke up from my nightmare, I was still fat. Bummer.
ha! you totally aren’t fat, dude. 🙂
NOOOOO! Not the Scrawn! You MUST get your power back! And bring Cornfather to the the con if you can swing it.
i know, jesternario! the Power of Scrawn must be mine once again! and i’m not sure the Cornfather can get away for the extended trip to Seattle this year. i’m driving this time, so he’d probably have to take off the whole week. i’ll let him know of your request, tho!
Bot, full erspect to the power of Scrawn. But you should try the power of Chub for a while. We’re immune to the cold, our bodies absorb damage better, and we’re blasted cuddly. The ladies love the cuddly part. 😉
the Chub Side is a very tempting road to travel down, Anime fan, but i’m afraid i’ll miss my Scrawn powers! we’ll see – i may not have a choice in the matter. heheh.
Lose my last 50 pounds, or to be exact lose 40 by the end of July.
It mocks me so..
Also want to finish my second book( not reading my second book.. That would be weird).
I discovered on New Year’s Eve that I’m slowly running out of resolutions and I’m afraid to ask for suggestions from friends since that might be opening up Pandora’s box.
good luck on the weight loss and writing, Satoshieyes! both are worthy goals!
and, yeah – i wouldn’t want to ask for resolutions for myself, either. i really wouldn’t want to hear what some of my friends (and family!) would say. heheh.
I don’t make resolutions because a resolution is like a plan, and I can never follow through with a plan.
maybe you should resolve to follow through on plans, 52pickup! 😉
Accidentally posted this as a reply… Oops

Resolutions?
1-Lose weight, or at least eat heathier.
2-Graduate from college.
3-Finally get around to what I’ve been promising my viewers on YouTube for months.
There, that seems good enough.
1) cool. me too.
2) cool. i’ve been thinking about going back for another degree, or to get a higher one now that i have more time.
3) ooh… what’ve you been promising???
Currently I’m in the middle of a 4 Part Plan. One part is a vlog, and another part is featuring bizarre holidays that many don’t know about. Those parts have already begun. The other two parts are behind schedule and a secrete to everyone. Sorry, the only hint I’ll give is that both parts have to do with games, but in different, yet similar ways.
sounds cool!
I’m resolved to lower the guilt levels in my life, so no resolutions this year.
We’ll see how it goes.
lower guilt? ALWAYS a good resolution, Sarah W! i’ll share that one with ya. 😀
My resolutions are easy at this point. I got a new computer to replace my broken one so now I may begin work on my new webcomic. Usually, I don’t make resolutions because if you find something you’re doing wrong the time to fix it is ASAP. not the first of the next year.
About the comic: Since it’s a dream sequence, this would actually be possible: Was jefbot fat because he was pregnant?
congrats on the new computer, Rainey! let us know when you get your webcomic up. 😀
and: heheh. nope. things are about to get weird soon in the BOTiverse, but he’s definitely not preggers.
Normally, I lose my personal Powers of Scrawn over the holiday season. This one would have been all the truer having been working about 70% in an office at my last job. But the sudden turn of poverty has me losing it faster than I could gain it.
Fortunately, it also has me getting a lot of writing done on my next book. When “doing something about it” falls short or is no longer an option, I’m a stress insomniac and stress eater. The latter isn’t as much of a choice.
And I don’t make resolutions. My personal improvement doesn’t revolve around an arbitrary calendar.
To be fair, I did set a goal to finish my second book by the end of this year, but that was when I started it last June. Not so much a resolution.
Ah, the “I’m poor and have a lot of work to do diet” Universally successful and yet no one seems willing to undergo it.
indeed.
well, at least i’m in good company, E. A. Setser! i thought i’d lose weight now that i’m not eating nearly as much fast food since losing my job, but i guess the holiday food more than made up for that. good luck on hitting your book goal! 🙂
I recommend a whole food diet. My sister’s on one and it works great.
My Resolution is to get a promotion at work, or if I can’t, quit and open my own bakery.
i might give the “whole food” diet a whirl, Kyren. although i’ve found that eating well is much more expensive than eating crappy! (sadly.)
and i hope either of your resolutions come to pass! the world could use more good bakeries. 😀
LOL. I actually was worried Jeffbot was pregnant.
ha! at least he’d have a good excuse for gaining weight, Nat!
So if your hero is Scrawn, equipped with the angry scarf…who is Cornfathers?
the Cornfather’s alter ego is “Chubman,” JavaBeanJohnny! (see the next strip.) unfortunately, he doesn’t have an angry alien scarf to go along with his hero persona like bot does.
