Anime Expo + JEFbotHey, all! Quick update: The Anime Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center is in full swing and I’ve been running the BOTbooth since yesterday and will continue to be there throughout the weekend. Unfortunately, this means the new comic won’t go up until next Tuesday, but fortunately, it means I’ll be able to meet more JEFbot readers from my hometown for a couple more days.

This is my first time at the Anime Expo and I’ve gotta say – it’s completely different from any other comic convention I’ve exhibited at over the past few years. It has a different vibe – the vendors are different, the attendees are different, the cosplayers are different, people are looking for different things. It’s strange but I’m digging it, especially since I’ve loved manga and anime since I was a kid. Walking around the convention floor and seeing all the anime and videogame-themed clothing, plushes, weapons, toys, games, food and random stuff, makes me want to spend all the profits I’m making from the con. So far I’ve been able to resist the urge, but there’s some merch I might have to pick up if I make a certain quota. We’ll see…

Needless to say, if you’re in the area and can make it to the convention, I’d love to meet you! Since this is my first time at AX, I’m splitting the booth with my buddy Denis Caron of Corvink to cut costs, so come check out our stuff and hang a bit. And if you mention you’re a BOTreader, I have a commemorative AX BOTton to give you (while supplies last.) I have some new artwork for the show – including some new Quality Time art and a limited print for AX – so I’ll try and post pictures of that stuff here soon.

I think that’s it for this update. I have to go work on some stuff for tomorrow’s convention before I can catch some ZZZs tonight. Talk to you again, shortly!

Like that,
Jeff
