Looks like our gang’s very close to leaving the (relative) safety of the tunnels and getting back on the road! And it appears the sun’s coming up, too. A good omen, perhaps?
yep! out of the caves and into the fire, Kris. oop! i mean, out of the caves and, uh… smooth sailing from here on out. heheh.
and check you out – you done got the Shades of Firsting once again! wear them well – these are the perfect pair for looking good when emerging from caves in the Hollywood Hills:
😎
nope, they’ve just been in the cave a loooong time, Rainey! remember, they arrived at the cave way after midnight, then bot played some games with Grimmy, had some tea and had visions of the platyverse, woke up to an alarm, had a crazy trip bounding through the tunnels, yada yada yada: it’s morning! but it’s still pretty early. 🙂
Whats even more rare is the cave bot, he seldom come out of his hole, much rather staying inside where its nice and has wi-fi. But when forced from his abode, he is a fearsome sight to behold.
yes, indeedy, BD – if i was jogging though those hills and saw Grimwald emerge from some hole in the mountain, i think i’d need a new pair o’ shorts. ;D
I am waiting for them to tumble down the hillside, epic fail style!
Things NEVER goes the easy way for bot in there situations.
Then again he has his lucky number shirt…
ha! yes, i can see bot trying to seize an epic moment by marching to his destiny, then tripping and completely rolling down the entire hill, Graypatch. heheh. and you’re right – things never seem to come easy to bot. we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out.
Bot: Grimwald, open the pod bay doors.
Grimwald: I’m sorry Jef, I can’t do that.
Bot: Then why did you blow up your cave and take us out here?
(Grimwald proceeds to make a troll face)
Grimwald: You mad?
And it’s not raining anymore and Mu is awake. That’s good. Hopefully the odds will continue to be in their favor. 😉 I’m really excited to see where this is going now. 😀
yes! things are looking up for this last leg of their quest, Shanna! glad you’re excited. (although if this turns out anything like the Hunger Games, our crew might still be in trouble.) 😀
Aww, man. Yesterday was so nuts (car trouble…since Saturday), I forgot to even check for a new comic! And look, after somewhere around six months, Jefbot and company are finally seeing daylight (and, hopefully, Mu’s ever-closer to his spin-off comic [no, I haven’t forgotten about that]).
Really, you only NEED the one, but…wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey. Basically as long as it’s back in the Omega vault in time for John Hurt to steal it, we’re good.
Dang, they were in that cave a long time. Morning already? Well, I guess that makes sense, considering everything that’s happened in that cave. ‘bot even fell asleep at one point, so it’s hard to judge how much time has gone by.
Happy Thanksgiving, by the way!
Huh, for some reason I expected the alien ship to be right outside the hole. Now that I think about it though it makes sense to not build your secret tunnel right up to the enemy base. For Jefbot’s sake though I hope it’s nearby.
Cool finally out of the caves

Thank you hope the sun doesn’t blind Jefbot .Good thing he has all of those critter eyes to help see!
heheh. yes, i think bot could use the Shades of Firsting when he steps out into the light, actually. 😉
Hmm… I’m pretty sure it was night time when they entered the cave. Perhaps they’re on the other side of the planet? Or in a parallel universe?
nope, they’ve just been in the cave a loooong time, Rainey! remember, they arrived at the cave way after midnight, then bot played some games with Grimmy, had some tea and had visions of the platyverse, woke up to an alarm, had a crazy trip bounding through the tunnels, yada yada yada: it’s morning! but it’s still pretty early. 🙂
“Oh what a night! Late November back in 2013…”
you just had to get that song stuck in my head now, didn’t ya, r61? 😉
Please don’t leave Mr. Grimwald…
we’ll find out soon whether he’ll stay with the team or not, ROM!
The fact that he has built tunnels with some sort of locks makes me wonder if he has been here for several years.
Love the details on the last panel!
true that, DAS – it does seem likely that he’s been living there for quite some time.
This is the secand comic #567!
so happy i have y’all to keep an eye on things like that for me, me. second strip in a row i’ve screwed that up. anyway, fixed!
Whats even more rare is the cave bot, he seldom come out of his hole, much rather staying inside where its nice and has wi-fi. But when forced from his abode, he is a fearsome sight to behold.
sorry, replied to wrong comment

The Moments is coming… And interface is hot.
Sorry couldn’t help myself. Who else was at 50th Who anniversary in cinema?
I wasnt there, but enjoyed all the whovians flooding my dash with pics. (not a whovian, btw)
I was, my whole family went, and it is not something I will soon forget. I had a great time.
i’m still way behind on Who so lived vicariously through friends who went, Maryz. been hearing good things!
Sorry, but that last line sounds fairly ominous to me.
heheh. i think you’re right, Oz.
it’s not your moment doctor…
I don’t know why, but I love the middle panel, I mean, I love the whole arc, bit. It’s just the middle panel stands out the most to me. +1
you like the “bwip,” theBean? sweet! 🙂
I am waiting for them to tumble down the hillside, epic fail style!

Wow. All this going on in the hills of L.A.? All we have is cactus and rattlesnakes.
heh. yes, indeed, p.j. day! although usually it’s just boring joggers and hikers around there. cave rabbit spottings are much more rare.
Bot: Grimwald, open the pod bay doors.
Grimwald: I’m sorry Jef, I can’t do that.
Bot: Then why did you blow up your cave and take us out here?

Alternate version, of course.
with all the alternate universes going on, i’m sure that scenario played out in at least one of ’em, Bloo Doom. 🙂
Elsewhere in the multiverse, Jefbot is a gigantic super-rabbit who found unlikely help in a hermit human named Grimwald…
Does he then learn that only he can prevent forest fires?
hmm. probably. heheh.
i’d actually love to see that scenario, JOE! maybe someday i’ll draw that meeting. 🙂
And it’s not raining anymore and Mu is awake. That’s good. Hopefully the odds will continue to be in their favor. 😉 I’m really excited to see where this is going now. 😀

did you see Catching Fire yet?
I have to wonder how many other exit holes Grimwald has made throughout the mountains.
wonder away, Fijiman! i bet he has countless exits and tunnels running through those hills. 🙂

dude, car trouble is the worst. hope you were able to get it all fixed and stuff.
and, yes – they’ve finally emerged! as for Mu’s spin-off comic… um. well, we’ll see. 😉
AH!
Your environments look wonderful 😀
thanks, dj! nice to be drawing the outdoors again. heh.
Moments plural?
>buckles up<
Okay. Go.
HOW MANY OF THOSE THINGS DID THE TIMELORDS MAKE?!!?
Um . . . All of them?
Really, you only NEED the one, but…wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey. Basically as long as it’s back in the Omega vault in time for John Hurt to steal it, we’re good.
y’all are makin’ me really sad i’m so behind on DW.
yup! Grimwald just had to pluralize that, Sarah W.vroom, vroom!
Happy thanksgiving everyone! Enjoy eating turkey and watching your families fighting.
(JK, very bored because we dont celebrate TG in my country. Its dark and cold over here, I wish we had some sort of holiday like that…)
well, even though you don’t celebrate thanksgiving over there, i still hope you had a happy day, DAS! i’ll eat some leftover stuffing for ya. ;D
Dang, they were in that cave a long time. Morning already? Well, I guess that makes sense, considering everything that’s happened in that cave. ‘bot even fell asleep at one point, so it’s hard to judge how much time has gone by.
Happy Thanksgiving, by the way!
true, everyone is assuming one night after all, but as Moria taught us, time underground can be tricky
true dat, Hairball. let’s hope our crew wasn’t in there for more than a night, though!
yeah, they were in there a long time, Blunz. let’s just hope they’re all rested up and ready for the final leg of their journey!
and thanks for the thanksgiving nod! hope yours was excellent, as well. 😀
Huh, for some reason I expected the alien ship to be right outside the hole. Now that I think about it though it makes sense to not build your secret tunnel right up to the enemy base. For Jefbot’s sake though I hope it’s nearby.
yeah, they still have a little trekkin’ to do, GB. shouldn’t be too far, though. we’ll see!
