Okay, between the “whapping” and the cussing-in-front-of-a-child, let’s just agree that that could have gone better. Of course, it could have gone worse, too, had jefbot not caught the kitten. But will that small victory be enough for him to continue his quest to become a superhero?
Bammm … way to go .. violence solves everything
and it appears even unintentional violence can solve problems, too, Haszak!
and check you out: you just earned the Shades of Firsting! this is your first time, no? well, wear these when you’re making a getaway and trying to look casual and inconspicuous:
😎
Yes frist time for me. 🙂
WOO! wear them well, Haszak. wear them well.
Curses and damnation! A mere seconds away from earning those shades…
indeed, NateNexus: both you and Haszak had comments logged in at exactly 2:08! was a close one. 🙂
Brava, bot!
Also, for some reason I have the suspicion our old friend Wheaton will show up to combat bot at some point…
hmMMmm… that would be quite a battle, NateNexus! who knows what powers Wheaton has, what with his flying car and all. but they’re friends at this point, right!? (well, they are at the moment.) 🙂
Awwww, he saved the kitty!!! By smackin’ the $#&@ out of it. How… nice.
sometimes you have to be a hero by any means necessary, Maddgodd81.
I have 2 cats (as well as three dogs) and there are days that smacking the *@#$ out of them is the ONLY thing that saves them!
ha!
That kitten totally deserved it though! it tore The Scarf!
true.
Bwahahaha knock the little unsuspecting kitty out of the tree….I am not a feline fan, can you tell? Lol
heheh. you might make a great supervillain with the right Scarf, ESQ! (at least as far as felines are concerned.)
I totally called this though :p
that just means you know jefbot (and/or the Angry Scarf) too well, Lord Firesnake!
Oh the poor kitty!! ‘bot’s in trooouuuubllle…
(You can tell I’m a kitty fan 🙂 )
yeah, bot better hightail it out of there, Insectoid, no pun intended. (okay, it was a little intended.)
suddenly i thought of those Assassin Cross (Ragnarok MMORPG) pictures. the supervillian path may be near. in mind came those pictures: http://static.zerochan.net/full/45/31/89095.jpg and http://vietcrewgw.tripod.com/Character_Assassin.jpg
white hair, a little metal and that cool belt to go bot!
serves the kitty right. i hate cats that does not want to be helped
heheh. i’ve felt like “whapping” a few kitties that didn’t want to be helped on several occasions, jf#300. fortunately, i’ve refrained.
AARRRGH! That darn kitty hurt the scarf! It burns!!!!
bad kitty, jiro! (though the kitty’s lucky the Scarf didn’t get all rage-y.)
Looks like the scarf still has a will of its own—or it’s extremely,/i> sensitive to ‘bot’s moods and impulses.
Either way, fascinating.
And for my next trick, I’ll master closing up my brackets before hitting submit.
Sigh . . .
heheh. no worries on the brackets, Sarah W. i used to do that all the time, but fortunately, i have the power to edit. 🙂
and your latter theory is correct: bot was still in control and just kinda spazzed when the kitty took a swing at the Scarf. if bot hadn’t mastered the Scarf’s anger in the apartment earlier, the little girl might be pet-less right about now.
I bet Mr. Cuddles will never climb a tree again.
or get close to a scarf ever again, Alana!
Whew! That was a lucky catch. That went about as well as I was guessing it would. Good thing you didn’t have to draw a kitty-splat. 😉
Time for a little scarf surgery to fix that gash. Could Jefbot feel the scarf’s pain? If so, time to jettison it! Well, it may be that time anyway before anything worse happens!
i don’t know, a kitty splat might’ve been fun to draw, shanna… 😉
and jefbot does feel the Scarf’s pain on some level, he’s just too preoccupied to do much about it at the moment. and you may be right – with that danger in mind, it might be time to cut his losses.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! This is AWESOME! And very reminicent (sp) of the Original Superman movies. Where everytime the kid saw Superman she would tell her mother and get into trouble.
Good Morning ALL!
In panel 4, the kitty took a chunk out of AS..will this affect it in an odd way? Nice catch by the way Bot. And the swearing, I’m sure the kid says worse!
morning, Pixie!
totally! part of me would love to do a comic where the girl tells her mom about the man who rescued Mr. Cuddles with a Scarf, followed by another “whap!” but i’m holding off, for now. 🙂
and, yes: kitty damaging the Scarf will have some repercussions that’ll be addressed somewhat in the next strip.
wonder if the scarf now has self healing powers? will its wounds knit?
good questions, Hairba11 – if the Scarf can’t heal itself, bot’s gonna have to get some lessons in knitting, stat!
I have a sweet little calico kitty that lies in ambush for our big, dumb English mastiff all the time, so yeah, smack the kitty!
heh. totally been there, Oz – my cats used to ambush the family dog whenever they got together!
Well played. COL (chuckled out loud, I don’t really laugh)
heh. well your COL made me COL, Tim.
You have to wonder though why “little citizen” didn’t ask for Mom’ help before talking to a complete stranger. That’s just bad parenting. Walk away Jefbot, walk away quickly.
agreed: bot better not stick around long enough to find out what kind of parents this little girl has, Angela!
Oh Bot. What are we going to do with you?
i think he just needs some superhero lessons, TCG. maybe at the local community college.
No way man! That’ll make it worse! Trust me! I’ve been to community college!!! xD
Hey it’s not like he shot it with a pellet gun.
thank the gods bot isn’t carrying around any sort of gun, Hornet – he’s having enough trouble carrying around a scarf! heheh.
Can we expect for Mr. Cuddles to come back as a villian to seek revenge?
you never know, John! heheh. he’d have to come back in some supervillain, kitty costume, though.
Not a big cat fan here, especially after living with two of them for six months and waking up to one of them clawing the crap out of a doorframe…so go Scarf!
i love how there’s not much sympathy for Mr. Cuddles in the comments, T. seems most here are on the side of the Angry Scarf!
Poor kitten. *Sniff.*
Good reflexes bot, Id have not menage to catch the little thing Im afraid.
First panel? Way to go. Dislocated jaw in sixth? LOL. But the panic and attempt to caualy walk away stelas the cake.
I just hope demage dealt by little Shredder isnt permanent.
ah! so there are at least a few of you who have sympathy for Mr. Cuddles, Maryz!
yeah – jefbot’s gamer reflexes managed to serve him well catching the kitty. and glad you liked bot’s casual exit! heheh.
as for the damage “little shredder” did – we’ll be coming back to that, soon.
woah…
coooool….
sweeeeet…
You forgot that the cat could have totally clawed at Jefbot’s face after he caught it, so that’s another way it could have gone worse. And I think the angry scarf is even angrier now that it has been wounded. Although, the fact that a small kitten could take that big a chunk out of the scarf in one swipe says a lot about how strong it really is.
And speaking of cats, one of mine just found a mouse a little bit ago but did not catch it. It was funny though, I though she was stuck under the bag and I wish that had been the case. With any luck we’ll have caught it in the next few days.
We caught that mouse I mentioned the other day, but it had a friend. When I saw the thing, it climbing up the wall like f#@%ing spider mouse. We lost track of it for a while and you’ll never guess where I saw it next. In my cat’s litter box. I kid you not, it was literally just sitting in the litter box. I covered the box with a nearby towel and released it outside, but that was the strangest thing I’ve seen in a while.
Whoops. Must not have put in my information correctly.
true – things can pretty much always get worse, Fijiman! especially when it comes to jefbot. you’re right – the damage done to the Scarf shows its true nature. while it’s cool that it can do a bunch of stuff, it is a mass of yarn, after all.
ha! “Spider-Mouse”!? that it could climb walls and was perhaps intelligent enough to use the litter box to relieve itself means it might’ve had superpowers!
Well it was brick wall that it was climbing, but still. And it wasn’t so much using the litter box as much as it was just sitting in it for some strange reason.
Woops. Its actually illegal in the state of Michigan to swear in front of women and children.
and the strip looks a bajillion times better on this new computer.
ha! that’s awesome, dj. must be one of those old laws they never enforce. what happens when you have the TV on with women and children in the room and there’s swearing on a program you’re watching? are you supposed to turn it off?
congrats on the new computer! (and the 3DS.) 🙂
Ooo…. the stupid cat’s gonna be scarred for life with a fear of yarn….. that’s REALLY unnatural……
true that, Soul Man. at least it’ll still have laser pointers. 🙂
Really? Smacking a cat? Have you no shame? lol jk, I hate cats. 😉
heh. now what if bot had smacked a puppy, Anime fan? would you be outraged then?
Just keep walking.
Don’t worry, her mom won’t believe her when she says a scarf smacked her kitty out of a tree.
i like your gravatar, Aelyrin!
and you’re right – bot needs to just exit the area and hope the ridiculousness of the situation works in his favor.
Just another day in the life for the scarfed wonder!
ha! yes, but let’s hope the “Scarfed Wonder” has less days like this, FunnyShaffer!
And this comic, is the reason I’ll never trust Jeffbot with a pet. (: That girl should’ve thrown her barbie.
Hmmm….damage to the Scarf. I wonder if it’s self-repairing. Bot needs to bail, FAST before mama-san comes to see what’s going on with her little girl. I sense a purse-based beat down in the offing if he doesn’t get going.
Thank Smurfness!
On the plus side, you got the kitten down from the tree, but on the minus side, you swore in front of a kid… I would say this is a neutral deed! Awesome storyline Jefbot!
P.S. Who came up with the nickname jefbot? Did your friends suspect you were a robot?
Forever awesome, DAS!
