Although its methods were a bit crude and violent, I suppose we should all be thankful that the Angry Scarf spared the lives of the Hawaiian Shirt Guy and his little dog while dishing out some justice. Perhaps while the Scarf and bot were joined, his sense of right and wrong rubbed off on it a bit? And while the alien/yarn hybrid didn’t change HSG into the JEFbot Universe’s version of Venom (I know some of you had your fingers crossed for this), I’m sure this won’t be the last we see of this unsanitary pair. (If they can get down from that branch in one piece once the big bully regains consciousness, that is.)
See ya next time, when we get back to jefbot and find out what happens when he wakes up!
Beginning of The Angry Scarf storyline:
• There Will Be Scarf
First!
you got it, Maryz! and you know the drill: being the first commenteer means you just achieved the Shades of Firsting! wear these well – you might need them to focus on your surroundings, should the Angry Scarf put you in a precarious position, far off the ground:
😎
And of coarse I would miss one of the few chances I actually have of getting the shades. >:(
with my erratic schedule lately, i’m sure the opportunity will come up again soon, Fijiman. 🙂
YAY! Todays strip was a little late Jeff, I hope you will get enough sleep for tomorow.
Angry scarf likes Jefbot too! Who knew?
Wow, that puppy is sweet to protect its master, but with it scared as it is right now, that shirt is going to be Sh*t Shirt for same two reasons. But you gotta admire Scarfs creativity… LOL.
I guess we will see in the morning how will this turn out for bot – and if he will remember the whole thing or not.
I cant recognise any constalations. Its an alien conspiracy!
congrats on the Shades!
and, yeah: the strip went up late today. although i had it completed many hours ago, i was having problems with my internet connection last night (same thing happened last friday), and decided to go to bed rather than wait it out. so i did get some sleep! (just not as much as i would’ve liked.) 🙂
it does seem that the Angry Scarf likes bot, or is it just acting on instinct? maybe we’ll find out in further adventures…
ha! yeah, the Hawaiian Shirt Guy’s probably going to want to torch that shirt once he gets back home. hopefully he has a closetful of them, so we can identify him if he ever returns!
as for the constellations – maybe the JEFbot Universe has different constellations than ours? or maybe they’re there, you just have to filter out some of the extra stars to see them!
Love the scared little dog in the last panel! Maryz beat me to the scaring more shirt out of the beast joke.
thanks, Stan! and yeah, the little dog is scared shirtless! 😉
BuhZing! Don’t mess with the Scarfed Boy Wonder! …Poor puppy! But they both deserved what they got! I hate dog poop on the sidewalk!
“poor puppy” indeed, FunnyShaffer! his guilt is more by association than anything else. 🙂
Looks like Hawaiian-shirt Man got… laid out!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!
…sorry, someone had to do it.
this makes me laugh everytime, Joe!
ha! maybe the Angry Scarf was thinking this very thing, Anonymous. 😉
Curses, I’d forgotten about my OS reinstall wiped out my browser infos. I am Anonymous no more!
ah! i’ve been wondering who “Anonymous” was, Maesonic.
That dog’s got courage. Well at least when he’s not up in the tree. Hope that this is the end of the Hawaiian t-shirt guy’s rampage!
it’s usually those little dogs that have the most courage, supersonic cucumber! so many times the big ones are the pussy cats.
This is not my fault that the strip was up L8! 😉
ps. I had a BLAST! Can’t wait for Xmas!
it’s true: you aren’t to blame… this time, Xin! heheh. it was technology’s fault – my internet was down again this morning.
glad you had a blast! christmas at The Grove will be awesome. 😀
Loved the series… you know that’s one of my pet peeves… people who toilet their dogs on the sidewalk and not pick up. (Also, last week there was a pile of horse manure left on the sidewalk – still there – who walks or rides his horse on the sidewalk?)
thanks, Mombot!
and “horse manure”!!? hmm… i think you’ve just given me an idea for a follow-up to this storyline. 😉
Mombot!
Jefbot did it!!!
(Hmm… About 2000 miles from Los Angeles to Detroit – 2280 driving, according to Google – that should be far enough to be safe.)
Yeah! Let’s you and him fight! Go Xinda! Go JEFbot! Fight! Fight!
(walks off, quietly whistling. “Me? I didn’t say anything.”)
seeing as how Linda/Xinda surprised Mombot and i in Honolulu (a distance of about 2500 miles from L.A.) this summer, methinks Detroit is still not safe, Stonefoot! my advice? RUN.
URK!
(looks for running shoes, stops, looks for passport, thinks “Windsor, Canada is about 10 miles SE of my house, I have friends in Canada”) Oops! Did I think that out loud? Well, uh, I have several friends in Canada, in different places, and I won’t be driving my own car.
Anyway, Xinda, buddy, buddy, pal, friend, I wouldn’t want you to suffer through October weather in Detroit: Tonight we have 50% chance of rain at about 43 F. And that’s typical. We may have as many 10 sunny days between now and the end of January, and will probably have a least one time where it rains for 5 days without stopping. But the most “fun” is when it starts to rain and then drops below freezing with the rain turning to freezing rain and then snow, everything’s coated with ice which you can’t see because the ice is covered with snow. And sure we have plows and salt trucks to keep the roads ‘drivable’ – and about half the funding to actually get the job done. (And drivers who have lived in Michigan their whole lives, but can’t remember how to drive on snow from one year to the next.)
Stonefoot, I’ve been wanting to go to Detroit to see “The Oprah Show” fortunately for you, she’s moved….
Well, in the post I was writing while you were posting I outlined other reasons for you not to come, but if you do this would be the time to drive around looking at the fabulously colored leaves. Just dress for cold and wet… also for bright but damp. (The sun does periodically show it’s face here.)
Also, did somebody steal your Gravitar? Though I only know you through this forum, it doesn’t seem in character for you to hide. Oo! Are you setting an ambush?
And now it’s back.
are you saying i made the pile or it was my horse that did it, Xin? either way: it’s a LIE! i wouldn’t be surprised if you did it!!!
I’m just saying this… “Conchinita Pubil Buritto”!
Also, you don’t have a horsey!
HA! NEVER mess with the scarf… specially if the scarf is in full rage mode after it was separated from its host.
true that, nicobot! at least the Scarf wasn’t in full homicidal mode! i think it must’ve learned a lesson or two from bot.
I dunno why but the scarf in this one reminded me of the pissed off gorilla in Rise of Planet of the Apes!
ha! if the Scarf starts speaking and rallying other knitted garments, the planet’s doomed, F_F. 😉
Dammit now, you’ve got me thinking of Rise of Planet of the Threads XD
Justice has been meted out. Cornfather better watch how much he messes with Bot in the future.
he also better keep an eye on the Angry Scarf, 11TN – it could be more dangerous without bot!
They make me think of old converse. but that’s usually on telephone wires.
since – according to urban legend – shoes hanging from telephone wires indicates where drugs can be bought, i wonder what shoes hanging from a tree (and still attached to their owner, no less) means, dj?
Excellent! And an appropriate punishment…I think I’d be like the puppy, sitting there trying not to fall off and shivering the whole time. Heights and I don’t get along. Now…how is ‘Bot doing? Poor guy’s really been through the wringer. Get more sleep, boyo!
well let’s hope you never get in a situation like this, T! as for bot – he’ll be back in the next strip, so you’ll see how he’s faring shortly. 🙂
dang.
oh well. still didnt see that coming. guess it isn’t very symbiotic after all. more like it chooses whos most worthy! shocking how it sees jefbot as worthy hehe.
still, this is an awesome story arc.
thanks, steve! glad you’re digging the arc. and yeah, the Scarf can function outside of its connection with bot, but it does have some sort of symbiosis with him, for whatever reason. (we just don’t know why, yet.)
Okay, so not a knitted death, but more of a knitted hanging. I like it! 😀
i’m happy you’re please, TCG!
Now I’m gonna say I called it!
I can only imagine how much sugar and caffeine it’s going to take to replenish these two warriors!
yep, the bell has rung and you can call it, Sarah W; the fight’s over!
and you’re right: it’s gonna take a lotta Dew to recharge bot and the Scarf, methinks!
Ha! They got pwned. By a scarf. That’s gotta be a blow to their pride, among other things.
heheh. true that, Metaldude. being beaten by an accessory’s never good for the ego. 😉
Well, Ya said it when this storyline began and I didn’t believe it. I could not believe it. There will be scarf? pfft, how naive I was to think there wasn’t going to be scarf. There was scarf alright. There was so much scarf that HSG or his pooping puppy (dolly?) Will never be the same.
ha! i try and live up to my promises, Descolada! but, question is: will you believe me the next time i say there will be Scarf!? and, yeah, it’s highly probable that HSG and Dolly (yup) are gonna have fear complexes as people start bundling up during winter. 😉
I certainly will. Its alright though if they have fear complexes, they both look suited to warmer climates anyway.
Cleaned up their act and hung them out to dry.
😛
right on, CG! now if only the Scarf could’ve cleaned HSG’s shirt before the hanging…
HSG (as well as Bot) will probably be confused to no end when he becomes conscious again, not to mention very very sore. And I highly doubt that anyone would believe that he got beaten up by a scarf.
no doubt, Fijiman – you don’t get beat up by a neck accesory and not be at least a little confused. heheh. and you’re right: i wonder what he’s going to tell his friends about all them bruises.
Hmmm… will VeilCracker make another appearance with an “all just a dream” ending…or…
THE ALIENS WILL RETURN!!!!!!
*insert Doctor Who reference here*
ha! the VeilCracker will return in a future strip, GG, but until then, i can assure you all this has happened “for reals”!
I wonder how everyone will react to JB’s new powers? Of course, I also wonder what effect having the Scarf ripped away will have on Jefbot. Stay tuned everyone (I know I will be)!
that’s if jefbot tells them about his newfound powers, KB! (without the Scarf it’ll be hard to prove, if he does.) and, yes: stay tuned. bot will be back in the next strip!
I wonder if the scarf can survive without a host?
we know it can survive at least a short time without a host, Jiro, but exactly how long is uncertain.
thats awesome Scarf!!!
Ur my number one fave character in this WC now…hahahahahahaha…..thats how ur suppose to teach bullies….by beating them senseless and then hanging them on a tree
i’m happy you’ve, uh, “bonded” with the Angry Scarf, jf#300! and i concur: i have a zero tolerance policy with bullies, so they deserve what they get! (HSG included.) kinda sad that the dog got caught in the crossfire, though.
Morning Everyone!
So yeah my St. Augustine adventure fell through this year. I couldn’t make it happen. So I will be working the last weekend of Howl O Scream. Win-win? I think so.
LOVE the fate of HSG and his little poopy…I mean puppy.
Can’t wait to see what the next comic brings.
morning, Pix! and yay for Howl O Scream! wish i could go over there and experience it. 😀
glad you liked HSG’s comeuppance! (and, heh: poopy.)
Checking out the tags again… Jeff, is this really the only completely “jefbotless” (and completely silent) strip you’ve ever done?
there’ve been a few other jefbotless and silent strips, kIM, i just need to update those tags (someday.) off the top of my head, the Christmas Bat strips are “jefbotless” for sure.
It looks like the scarf can look after itself! I wonder if it will re-join with Bot now that HSG and his sidekick The Pooper are out of the way. Or perhaps it will take off on its own to fight crime. This could go in so many interesting directions.
yep, the Scarf is self-sufficient, at least in short bursts, Shanna. as for what it’ll do next (will it go back to bot or won’t it?): we’ll see in the very next strip! (although i’d love to see it go and fight crime on its own. i guess i’d have to make a separate strip for that, tho. heheh.)
That would be amazing.
🙂
O…kay. I’d probably be more impressed if I hadn’t seen Homestuck’s EOA5 after I got done with my midterm. The same EOA that crashed Newgrounds from heavy traffic in under a minute. The very one that you have to download to see if you don’t want to wait for things to cool down.
