Okay, when I said everything should be “smooth sailing” from here on out last time, I might’ve been a little off, but no one really believed that, right? Let’s just hope Musashi doesn’t have much more hacking to do ‘cuz that little mouse thing doesn’t look like it’s gonna wait for him to finish.

I posted some words and pics about the Phoenix Comicon on the jefBLOG while the memories were still fresh in my mind. Check it: PHXCC2013_Debrief.
Of course you forgot about the other one…
i like to think that bot was just at that moment checking up on the mouse guy, and didn’t actually forget, flame_fingers.
and check you out! three Shades of Firsting in a row, so you get the 3X Shades! wear them well – these will signal you if you *ahem* forget to check on any dangers which may be lurking behind you:
😎 😎 😎
I shall be protected at all times! Woohooo!
One day soon I’ll have enough SOF to make my own zorg ball *insert evil laugh*
a shiver just ran up my spine, f_f.
Do you ever sleep?
Nope. Aliens abducted me as a child and made me like Mu hahaha
Also helps I’m a designer and 1am is just when I get my creative juices flowing 😀
why do the “creative juices” of artists seem to flow more freely during the wee hours of the morning?
Because you’re tired. The connection between the conscious and unconscious mind is never clearer. I do the same thing as a writer.
You get tired? I usually get amped around this time, but I do pay the price in the morning X_x
getting amped is the problem – it’s hard to shut my brain down when it’s actually time to go to sleep! arrgh.
For me it’s the quiet, no calls from clients with changes, nobody annoying me at home, peace at last. I can work feeling a lot more relaxed
true that. when i had an office job, being able to work on JEFbot peacefully at night was just so nice.
i love when i have that perfect conscious/unconscious mind connection, bj42 – all too often i’m more connected to my unconscious and then i’m just tired all day. 😛
Missed it by that much….
Bot better have some more garbage fu ready. :O
so close, TCG!
and, yes, let’s hope for his sake and Mu’s that his garbage fu is strong.
I wonder if it occurs to Bot that Musashi’s not currently using that bokuto…
not yet, blackjacket42!
I knew it! There’s never smooth sailing in sci-fi! Its a rule: something has to go wrong otherwise it isn’t any fun 😀
Aah summer! The heat, the ice cream, the time to watch Youtube videos inside .
I agree that things have to go wrong in stories. It’s boring if characters can easily solve their problems. That’s one reason I generally don’t like stories about extremely powerful superheroes. Nothing can happen to them so they don’t have to work to accomplish their missions. I also find them impossible to relate to.
agreed, Rainey – i feel for the writers of those ultra-powerful superheroes as they either have to come up with villains who are even more ultra-powered, (which is hard to do after a while) or come up with something silly that counters the hero’s power.
true that, DAS – it’s one of the basic rules of drama: without conflict, there is no drama! and if it was all smooth-sailing, bot and Mu would’ve just waltzed up, completed their quest and been on their way back already. ho-hum. no fun. 🙂
ooh: ice cream sounds good right now. yay summer!
I wonder if that’s the mouse from my house that defied death twice last night by getting the peanut butter of an armed mousetrap without the trap going off. Actually, I’d feel better if that mouse had super powers and wasn’t just an ordinary mouse making of fool of me and my mouse traps.
Maybe it has ninja powers? Or maybe your trap was too simple…
As Admiral Akbar might say, “it was a trap!” Really, it was a simple mouse trap that was designed to snap the mouse in half. I’m going to say it was a ninja mouse.
hmmm… ninja mouse or super mouse? either way, you’re gonna have to build a better mousetrap, TPC! …or hire a super-powered hamster that fights for good.
Man, Chuaua’s are jerks before they’re all mutated and gross. Now he’s just extra mean and jerky. Hey wait a second…that’s the one Mu took, why is it still up and running if he was all ready to dispatch the parrot thingy?
Mu knocked it out (and would’ve dispatched it by now had bot not interfered) but it regained consciousness, theBean.
Sherlock reference spotted :]
Yep. I was looking through the comments to see if anyone else spotted that. I’m still trying to figure out if there are any other hidden references that I’m missing, of if Jeff just pulled the numbers and letters out of a hat or… elsewhere.
Is the XB3 across the bird-thing’s eye short for Xbox 360 perhaps?
the Sherlock ref’s the only secret thing i slipped in there. was gonna throw in a “42” but thought that would be too easy. heheh. as for the “XB3” – any reference to the XBOX 360 or upcoming 3rd iteration of the XBOX is purely coincidental. of course, maybe it’s evidence of Microsoft subliminally influencing my brain waves!
ha! glad you two spotted the Sherlock reference! just now getting into that show after talking to fans (including Tiana) about it in Phoenix. 🙂
Don’t its a trap. Feel all the feels and rewatch it when you feel lonely. It’s a bad idea and makes you /READ/ things. 😛
Parrotshrike is down.
Deathmouse is up. Why am I not worried? Sure, Mu is occupied. BUT!
Abraxas to the rescue!
ha! let’s hope Abraxas is right behind those bushes, Maryz, ‘cuz bot’s gonna need help posthaste!
Kick that little rat! It’s what I’d do.. I hate chihuahuas
but they’re sooo cute and soft, JGT! …at least when they have two eyes and aren’t out to rip your throat out.
Didn’t I say it? Seems like my precognitive abilities are doing just fine, or maybe I have a better understanding of Murphy’s Law. Murphy can be a right old S.O.B. C’mon Jeffy, it’s up to you to protect Mu while he works. I’ve got your back!
Murphy can definitely be a “right old S.O.B.” KB! maybe your precog abilities will help bot protect Mu.
There are some precognitive abilities that Seers can use to attack….maybe I should change my Levels in Telepath to Seer? I mean, you get a few nifty powers (like recall agony and recall death)…although the Telepath powers are pretty hoopy too…to change or not to change, that is the question. If I do, it would involve extensive questing…..ACK! I’ve gone into a nerd-fugue! *brain dies*
woo! nerd-fugue!
Look out for the mousie-thing! I wonder if Jefbot is any good with a Frisbee. It seems like a good shot with that trash can lid/shield could take it out for at least long enough for Musashi to finish up with the bird-thingy.
good prediction, Shanna: although it’s doubtful he can go all Captain America on that mousie-thing, we might just see how good bot is with a frisbee toss, shortly!
I was WONDERING what was keeping the sword on Mu’s back!
yep! bot gave him that little sheathe before they started their journey, Insane Asylum! he planned well. 🙂
Just like in a video game, some/something always shows up as you’re reloading/trying to do something.
true that, Fijiman. it’s what makes the “active reload” in games like Gears of War so much fun.
It’s only got one eye, Jefbot! Perhaps depth perception is its weak point.
you may be right, Takla!
(Mortal Combat voice) ROUND 2! FIGHT!
